The Screen Actors Guild Awards nominees were announced earlier this week, with 12 Years a Slave and The Butler at the front of the pack, and HFPA President Theo Kingma today announced the nominations for the 2014 Golden Globes.Read on to find out if your favorite movies and TV shows of the year made the cut.

There are some great choices on this list, even if anything that smelled too strongly of science fiction or fantasy did get politely ignored like a drunk aunt at a wedding. The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones are both absent, but at least the Emmy-snubbed Tatiana Maslany got some well-deserved recognition for her performances in sci-fi mystery Orphan Black.
American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave have come out ahead in the the movie award race and the rest of the picks cover a pleasing range of this year’s most critically-acclaimed titles, though it’s unfortunate to see Haifaa Al-Mansour’s touching coming-of-age story Wadjda left off the list.
