Madonna flirts with Justin Bieber, wants to go on a ‘dream date’ with Drake

Cele|bitchy |

I
don’t understand why so many of Madonna’s Instagrams are such poor
quality. Huh. Anyway, Madonna and Ellen DeGeneres have been making
news all week, I guess. I’ve been ignoring it, but I guess I can’t
anymore. Madonna appeared on The Ellen Show to shill her
album, and wouldn’t you know? Justin Bieber also stopped by. Just so
Madonna could flirt with him. In this clip, Ellen, Justin and Madge
played “Never Have I Ever.”

It was cute. Madonna and Justin sort of treated each other gently,
right? And Madonna’s voice seems especially soft these days. Not that
she’s ever been shrill or a screamer or anything, but she definitely
seems… softer, right?

Meanwhile, Madge did Us Weekly’s 25 Things You Don’t Know About…
feature this week. Us Weekly has only revealed a preview, but it’s
already making headlines. Madge says she’s never met Pres. Obama, she’s
sick of “Material Girl,” she hates mushrooms, and she loves Drake. She told Us Weekly: “The lifelong ambition I still want to fulfill is to go on a dream date with Drake – and only kiss him.”

Last thing: Madonna finally commented on the ongoing Dolce & Gabbana controversy.
She used to be the face of Dolce & Gabbana and she’s been close to
the designers for years. She posted one of her old D&G campaign
photos with this message:

All babies contain a soul however they come to this earth
and their families. There is nothing synthetic about a soul!! So how
can we dismiss IVF and surrogacy? Every soul comes to us to teach us a
lesson. God has his hand in everything even technology! We are arrogant
to think Man does anything on his own. As above so below! Think before
you speak.,,,,,,,,,,,❤️#livingforlove

So there you go.

Madonna Falls During BRIT Awards Performance Of “Living For Love,” Remains A Flawless Icon: Watch

"Watch Me Stumble, I'm Gonna Carry On!"
By: Robbie Daw / February 25, 2015
Follow: @chartrigger
“Watch me stumble,” Madonna sings just ahead of the chorus on her lead Rebel Heart single, “Living For Love”…and that’s just what the pop queen did on Wednesday, February 25, during her BRIT Awards performance of the song.

Madge’s stage showing at the BRITs was pretty similar to the one she did earlier this month at the Grammys,
with the same matador theme as the “Living For Love” video present —
only she apparently didn’t fully remove her cape in time before one of
her dancers yanked on it, causing the singer to fall backwards down a
prop staircase.

Madonna subsequently missed singing a few lines of the song after her
tumble, but eventually pulled it all together in time to finish her
performance. And she even posted an explanation for the fall on
Instagram:

So far there’s no word yet on whether or not the Material Girl
sustained any injuries from the incident, but one thing’s for certain:
will be talking about Madonna, as always, for some time to come.

Madonna Takes A Swipe at GaGa....Again!

The 56-year-old Queen of Pop - who is working on her 13th solo album -
has been locked in an ongoing feud with Gaga for several years
following claims that the 28-year-old singer plagiarised Madonna's music.

Now The Sun has reported Madonna has been working on a track called
Two Steps Behind Me, and the leaked song includes the lyrics "You're a
copycat, where is my royalty?"

Lady Gaga has always said that she had been a fan of Madonna and
taken inspiration from her, but the pair appeared to fall out when
Madonna began to comment on what she said were similarities between her
hit Express Yourself and Gaga's Born This Way.

And Gaga hit back in an interview last year: "I think she's more
aggravated that I'm not upset that she doesn't like me... I don't want
your f**king throne, no thanks, I have my own."

many 56-year-olds would ring in their special day by posing nude, but

Lionel Richie's Name Misspelled During BET Awards 2014: Picture

Lionel Richie's named was misspelled onscreen during BET Awards 2014Lionel Richie's named was misspelled onscreen during BET Awards 2014
Credit: BET

Say you, say me, say what?! Lionel Richie was the
deserving recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 BET
Awards, broadcast live on Sunday, June 29—but the network got "stuck on"
the spelling of the R&B crooner's surname. As the "Hello" singer,
65, accepted his honor onstage, his name was spelled "Ritchie." (Perhaps
producers were thinking of another "Ritchie": Unlike Lionel and his
also-famous daughter Nicole, British director and Madonna ex Guy Ritchie has a T in his last name.)

PHOTOS: BETs 2014: What the stars wore

Seemingly unaware of the snafu, Richie basked in the glow of his
honor and the bevy of artists covering his classics. After an intro by Pharrell Williams, John Legend, Ledisi and Yolanda Adams all sang versions of hits by Richie as well as the group that launched him, The Commodores.

PHOTOS: Biggest live TV flubs

"That was absolutely amazing," Richie gushed. "Everyone did a great
job. These are all the songs that they told me would ruin my career."

PHOTOS: Lionel and Nicole and other famous dads and daughters

Richie continued in his acceptance speech: "Soul is a feeling, not a
color. Talent is a God-given gift and not a category. And out of the
box, out of the box is that magical place where talent—true talent—goes
to live and thrive and breathe. And may you never give that up as long
as you're in this business."

Happy Birthday Janet Jackson! What's Her Greatest Song?

janetheader
by snicks
|

Janet Jackson has been a star all her life, born into an iconic showbiz family. We first saw her spark on Good Times, and she followed that up with Different Strokes and Fame, but music was her destiny, and after a couple of ignored teen albums, she finally broke through in a enormous way with 1986′s Control, which completely redefined her career, and started her on the road to superstardom.

Today is her 48th birthday, so let’s pick her greatest single. It’s a
tough job, with 25 top ten hits (including 10 #1′s), but what is the
cream of the crop? Here are my top five:

5. RUNAWAY

YEAR: 1995

ALBUM: Design Of A Decade

CHART PEAK: #3

Exuberant first single from her first Greatest Hits album, it provided a great capper to ten years of growth as an artist.

4. WHEN I THINK OF YOU

YEAR: 1986

ALBUM: Control

CHART PEAK: #1

The third single from her classic breakthrough Control, it was her first #1 on the pop chart.

3. LOVE WILL NEVER DO WITHOUT YOU

YEAR: 1990

ALBUM: Rhythm Nation

CHART PEAK: #1

The seventh (and final) single from her mammoth Rhythm Nation, it became her fifth #1 song. The video introduced us to Antonio Sabàto, Jr. and Djimon Hounsou.

2. COME BACK TO ME

YEAR: 1990

ALBUM: Rhythm Nation

CHART PEAK: #2

Her greatest ballad, it’s a gorgeous, shimmering lament to a lost love

1. THE PLEASURE PRINCIPLE

YEAR: 1987

ALBUM: Control

CHART PEAK: #14

The sixth single from Control, it was also the first from
the album not to hit the top five, but it’s may favorite Janet song.
It’s sexy, confident, and perfectly sums up what makes Janet so special.

Beyoncé named highest-paid black artist of all time

Beyoncé has been named the highest-paid black artist of all time.

The
singer has overtaken previous earning records held by Michael Jackson,
Prince and Janet Jackson, following the success of her 'Mrs Carter Show'
world tour.

Beyoncé
pocketed $212 million (£126 million) for the year-long tour, which sold
over 1.8 million tickets across 126 dates, according to Billboard magazine.

The
star's most recent dates in Europe - which spanned across 25 dates from
February to March - earned her $41.1 million (£26m) alone.

The tour largely travelled before the release of Beyoncé's self-titled fifth studio album, which came in December 2013.

However, the last 25 dates did see Beyoncé revamp the 'Mrs Carter Show' to include new tracks, such as 'Drunk In Love' and 'XO'.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé recently announced plans for a new co-headline tour with her husband Jay Z, which will travel across the US this summer.

Mariah Carey's Journey to a New Album: The Billboard Cover Story

Mariah Carey is having a Case of the Mondays.

Mariah Carey
It's the day after Easter, and she's nursing a kick to the face from
her nearly 3-year-old son Moroccan after a long day of egg hunting. "We
were sort of winding down the day, removing his shoes, and he was having
his own moment of not wanting the night to end and he ended up getting
me square in the nose while the shoe was still on," says Carey, 44, on
the phone from her apart- ment in New York. Though her nose has a "tiny
bump" that Carey has been treating with ice and milk, the incident has
still apparently swollen her face enough that she has had to cancel a
planned photo shoot and in-person sitdown with Billboard. "I think it's
OK. It's still really red. I could've covered it up and tried to look
decent, but shouldn't my "Billboard" cover be a little less about that
and more about the music?" (The cover photo is an outtake from her album
shoot.)

If you've followed the headlines around Carey in the years since
2009's "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel," you would know it hasn't always
been about the music. Since the birth of her twins Moroccan and Monroe
in April 2011, she has weathered a rocky stint as a judge on American
Idol in 2013, for which she was paid $18 million, according to People,
as well as an accident on a music video set that led to a dislocated
shoulder and cracked ribs. The injury preceded the latest in a series of
delays for her planned 14th album, which at one point was earmarked for
early 2013. Though her Miguel duet "#Beautiful" was a decent-sized hit
last summer, peaking at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 with sales of
1.2 million (according to Nielsen SoundScan), a trio of other singles
failed to catch fire, most recently February's "You're Mine (Eternal),"
which spent a week on the Hot 100 at No. 88 and has sold only 56,000
copies.

No 'Beyonce' Strategy For Mariah Carey's New Album

But in late May, Carey hopes she can silence her naysayers and
super-serve her patient fans with the much-anticipated release of her
14th album, which at one point was intended as a digital-first,
all-at-once release a la "Beyoncé." Though her label Def Jam now says an official pre-order is expected for later this week,
announcing the album's title, cover and tracklist, it's clear from
talking to Carey that she misses the good old days of the '90s. The time
when you could deliver an album the old-fashioned way, when you had to
go to the store to see the song names and the cover art. "I have to be
the one that announces this, especially the title," says Carey, noting
the album takes its name from a "personal possession of mine that's part
of an entity that I've had almost all my life."

The "Beyoncé" parallels would have made even more sense when you
consider that Beyonce was coming off an underperforming album (2011's
"4") before going the surprise route, much like Carey's "Memoirs"
produced just one top 10 hit ("Obsessed") and sold a disappointing
549,000 copies, low enough to cancel a planned remix album.

Carey will cop to a few of the prerelease singles not doing
particularly well, pausing to note that 2013's Stargate-produced "Almost
Home" was intended for the "Oz, Great and Powerful" soundtrack. "It was
never about, 'This is my album,' but I wasn't fully connected to that
song. I was in the middle of that other situation in my life, which we
will erase and pretend it never happened." (That "situation" being Idol,
which we'll get to later.) "You would think I would be all about the
singles-driven situation, and I am in a way, but with this particular
album I want my fans to hear it as a body of work," she says. "This is
my life since we last left off. Just picture a dot dot dot, and then
here's the album."

"Life happens, and that added to the making of this album,"
songwriter-producer Bryan-Michael Cox told "Billboard" in February.
"Over the past couple years we've added songs, scratched songs,
slow-baking this record like a honey-baked ham. And when you take a bite
of that ham — people will be extremely and pleasantly surprised."

Carey's label group Island Def Jam is probably best described as
cautiously optimistic about the album, declining to respond to multiple
fact-checking and interview requests for this story.

In terms of fans, anticipation for a new Carey album hasn't been this
high since her mid-2000s comeback, which saw 2005's "The Emancipation
of Mimi" go quadruple-platinum and turn "We Belong Together" into the
biggest radio hit of her career, spending 14 weeks atop the Hot 100 and
becoming Billboard's top song of the 2000s. But in addition to the
reteaming with Jermaine Dupri ("We Belong Together," "Always Be My
Baby") on two tracks for the new album, she has assembled a team of
collaborators that shows she has paid attention to the hip-hop and
R&B charts in recent years. There's tracks from of-the-moment
producers like Hit-Boy (Kanye West and Jay Z's "N***** In Paris") and
Mike Will Made It (Rihanna's "Pour It Up"); guest features from Wale,
Nas and Trey Songz; and even c ontributions from veeran arranger Larry
Gold and the Love Unlimited Orchestra and a "special guest that I'm not
allowed to reveal."

Talk to Carey about the album, and you'll get lengthy if cryptically
worded explanations about the material, making liberal use of favorite
words like "journey" ("If I use that word one more time I'll have to
start an '80s rock band"), "festive" (her time on Idol, she says, "was
not festive") and "moment" ("I just need a moment to finish this track
listing"). She'll call you "dahhhling," with a Zsa Zsa Gabor
affectation, and grill you on your "lambily" status (that's Mariah speak
for hardcore fans, or "lambs"). "There's no way I'll be able to quite
relive the splendor of certain moments — name that tune, lambily!" she
says at one point, asking if you've spotted her lyrical reference to
"The Roof " from 1997's "Butterfly."

7 Things From Mariah's Classic 'Fantasy' Video that She Should Do Today

As Carey began work in earnest on the project in 2012, a friend
compiled an exhaustive, 1,000- track playlist of all of Carey's catalog
and remixes, dubbed "The Ultimate MC Audio Collection." Through
revisiting her own 24-year career, Carey reminisced about forgotten
remixes from the '90s with producers like the late David Cole and her
early experiments with genre-fusing. "I will always lean toward R&B
in general, but I do think that merging hip-hop and R&B was one of
the best things that happened for me as a fan of music. There's this
whole pop and hip-hop mixing together thing now — first of all, it's not
new, and second of all, why are we acting like it is?"

The album will also showcase Carey's intro-spective, "morose" side,
which certain lambily have treasured through the years from deeply
personal cuts like "Looking In" (from 1995's "Daydream"), "Close My
Eyes" (from "Butterfly") and

"Petals" (from 1999's "Rainbow") — songs that offer an intimate
glimpse into the person behind all the diva behavior. "It's so good to
hear people say they grew up with me as the soundtrack to their life,
even though I was making it, so that was the soundtrack to my life as
well," she says.

It was Carey's reconnection with "Looking In" that shaped the final
phase of the current album. She performed the song live for the first
time with the New York Philharmonic in Central Park last July, just one
week after her shoulder injury, clad in a faux-fur sling that matched
her white ballgown. The song's lyrics were inspired by her unhappy
marriage from 1993 to 1998 to Tommy Mottola, and found her singing in
the third person about a girl who "dreams of all/ That she can never
be/She wades in insecu- rity, yeah/And she hides herself inside of me."
Carey broke down in tears at one point during the song, cautioning the
audience beforehand that it "requires a bit more stability than I have
right now. I kind of got in trouble for writing this song so I'm going
to try."

After the show, Carey revisited the songs she had already earmarked
for the ballad-heavy album and decided she needed a change of pace.
That's where two of the three Hit-Boy tracks came in, as well as a fresh
collab with Dupri, who became her latest manager thereafter. (Carey's
management underwent several changes in 2012 and 2013, including parting
ways with former Idol co-star Randy Jackson after many years together
and a brief stint with Coran Capshaw's Red Light Management.) "There
were certain parts of the album where I needed to be lifted up again. I
needed something uplifting." (That's a "Dreamlover" reference, lambily.)

That Carey is taking even more of a hands-on approach to her music
these days is no surprise from a woman who co-wrote all her No. 1
singles, and has also taken more aspects of her career in her own hands
amid her various management shifts and other endeavors. After being
"bamboozled" by the Idol experience when footage of her feud with fellow
judge Nicki Minaj leaked, for example, Carey says she would like to
executive-produce her next reality-competition venture. "I have another
project that I'm so very excited about that's finally coming to
fruition. I would want to do something that was authentic. And I did
feel that there were some truly talented singers on there this year,
last year, whenever that was. It's a blur, it has all been a blur, all
of it, dahhhling."

BILLBOARD: GET THIS ISSUE | SUBSCRIBE | GET THE iPAD APP

But she's also in a rarefied class of superstars in their third
decade of fame who can still compete in the big leagues. Madonna, Cher
and Celine Dion continue to rank among Billboard's top-earning artists
more for their exhaustive touring work, not because they're still
getting the massive radio play and album sales of their respective
heydays. Carey, meanwhile, has never been much of a roadhorse (she
didn't even tour until 1993, when she played 10 theaters in support of
her third album, "Music Box") and still considers herself more of "a
studio rat" at heart.

"I love being in the studio, making Wall of Sound background vocals.
That's when I'm most at home, other than being with 'dem babies' now. I
love being onstage and connecting with the lambily most importantly, but
it's just that now nothing's just an experience with your fans and your
fans alone. It's on YouTube immediately, not 'Oh, that was an amazing
moment I just experienced.'" So until she's willing to do a global arena
tour or a Las Vegas residency, Carey will need to keep churning out
hits to extend her living legacy.

Dupri seems weary of the expectations that come with official
"comeback singles," which is why one of his first items of business as
Carey's manager last fall was releasing the ballad "The Art of Letting
Go" as a teaser track on Carey's Facebook page to set the tone for the
album, rather than the typical event strategy. Though "Letting Go" will
appear on the album along with "#Beautiful" and "You're Mine," the hope
is that the fans' response will democratize the typical album process
from here.

"The challenge with Mariah has always been if I like one record and
she likes another, you can never pick a single that satisfies
everybody," says Dupri. "If you just did what Beyonce did, she just gave
you 17 singles and you picked which record you like."

Even though Carey's latest album marks the longest gap between
albums, it certainly won't be her last, despite a recent interview with
Bravo's Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live" where she indicated she
might be treating it as such. Still, it signifies something of a make-
or-break moment at this phase in her storied career as Billboard's
second-most-decorated Hot 100 chart-topper, next to The Beatles.

"I will always make music. When I said [this album] could be my last,
that's because tomorrow's not promised to anyone. When I release
anything, it's difficult — it could be a performance that you don't love
and it's like, 'Great, everybody's going to pick this apart,' and
that's it. What I'm trying to say is I wanted this to be something I
could be proud of, whether it's like, 'Yay, No. 1 song!,' and this and
that. However things end up happening, we've all worked so hard. The
true lambily have all worked so hard to break all these Billboard
records and to have this incredible experience with me that I want them
to have this almost as a gift."

Kylie Minogue’s ‘Rdio’ Playlist Is Everything: Sky Ferreira, Solange & Vintage Janet Jackson

Kylie Minogue worked with some of the hottest tastemakers in popular music on new LP Kiss Me Once (Pharrell, Ariel Rechtshaid and MNEK),
so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that she has her finger on
the pulse. Need proof? The legendary diva put together a playlist
(romantically titled Back To Mine)for digital music service Rdio and it’s everything.

The “Sexercize” advocate shows her hipster credentials by including recent cuts from indie divas Sky Ferreira, Grimes and Solange as well as a smattering oftunes from (relatively) obscure artists like Blood Orange, Le Youth and Jonsi. Amusingly, she also picks Vanessa Paradis‘ camp 1987 novelty hit “Joe Le Taxi” and a bunch of ’90s R&B tracks like Janet Jackson‘s “That’s The Way Love Goes” and Hi-Five‘s “I Like The Way (The Kissing Game)”. Get in the mood with Kylie after the jump by streaming her playlist.

1. “Thinkin Bout You” — Frank Ocean

2. “C O O L” — Le Youth

3. “You’re Not Good Enough” — Blood Orange

4. “Oblivion” — Grimes

5. “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)” — Hi-Five

6. “Everything Is Embarrassing” — Sky Ferreira

7. “Joe Le Taxi” — Vanessa Paradis

8. “That’s The Way Love Goes” — Janet Jackson

9. “Creep” — TLC

10. “Open” — Rhye

11. “Boy Lilikoi” — Jónsi

12. “Losing You” — Solange

Beyonce may be raunchier than ever - but you don't have to watch her

This is how she rolls

Beyonce is the latest songstress coming under fire for being too sexy in her European tour.

Well my advice is, if you don't like it, don't go. And certainly don't take your kids.

Her steamy pre-watershed Grammy performance with
hubby Jay-Z in January prompted thousands of complaints from parents in
the US who felt their kids shouldn't be subjected to what was basically
foreplay at 8pm on live TV.

Admittedly her routine wouldn't have
looked out of place at any local pole dancing club, and why any woman
would want to wear a thong and gyrate suggestively with her husband in
front of millions of people is beyond me.

But that Grammy performance should have rung alarm bells for any parents who had tickets to Beyonce's tour.

Beyonce Reveals Sexy Swimwear Look For H&M
Beyonce has gone all sexy on us

If she is willing to do that on live telly in front of the world,
imagine what she will be like in the relative privacy of an arena with
just 20,000 people there?

And Queen Bey
isn't the first and she certainly won't be the last pop star to get her
kit off and writhe around a bit to sell a few records. Madonna, Janet
Jackson, Britney Spears, Christine Aguilera and Rihanna have all been at
it for years.

When you go and see one of their shows, you pretty much know it is going to be raunchy. So you make your choice.

What
parents can't get away from though are the lyrics in the songs played
on the radio that our kids sing along to in the car everyday.

“I'm
up all night to Get Lucky”, “You know you want it”, “Sticks and stones
may break my bones but chains and whips excite me”, they sing along
oblivious to what those words mean as I cringe quietly in the driver's
seat.

I was 11 when Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Relax was banned by the BBC because of the overtly sexual nature of the lyrics.

If they took that stance now the radio would be practically silent.

But what does make me angry is when pop that is marketed purely at kids often oversteps the mark.

When
my daughters are singing along in the car to The Vamps “I talk a lot of
s**t when I'm drinking, I'm known to go a little too fast”, while One
Direction's Live While We're Young tells them “Don't let those pictures
leave your phone”, it makes me feel that the music industry, not my
kids, needs to grow up.

Michael Jackson ‘Xscape’ — New Posthumous Album Dropping In May

Michael Jackson Xscape

Despite what Kanye says, MJ is NOT gone! Over four years after
Michael’s death, a new album by the King of Pop will be hitting shelves
in just a few short months, giving fans a glimpse at some of the
masterpieces that were left behind.

Michael Jackson may be gone, but he’s going to live on forever. The King of Pop recorded a ton of music before he tragically passed away in 2009, and now an 8-track collection called Xscape will be dropping on May 13! Shamone — get more details below!

Michael Jackson: New Album Coming In May

MJ had completed vocal recordings before he passed away, so famed producer L.A. Reid took the lead in cultivating those tracks and “contemporizing” each of them, according to Billboard. The album was then taken over by Timbaland, who is the project’s lead producer. Rodney Jerkins (Whitney Houston, Brandy), Stargate (Beyonce, Ne-Yo), Jerome Harmon (Beyonce, Justin Timberlake), and John McClain (Janet Jackson) also worked on the album.

“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great
pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either
worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with,” L.A.
Reid said in a statement. “We are extremely proud and honored to present
this music to the world.”

Xscape is named after one of the eight songs on the album, which was written and produced by Rodney Jerkins and MJ himself.

Epic will be releasing a deluxe edition of the album that will also
include all of the sourced recordings in their original form. Both
versions of Xscape will be available for pre-order on iTunes and everywhere else on April 1.

So HollywoodLifers, how psyched are you for new Michael Jackson music!? Are you now counting down the days until you can Xscape? Let us know!

March 16, 1996: Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men's 'One Sweet Day' Makes History On Hot 100

'Sweet' 16, indeed: On this date 18 years ago, the superstar duet ballad wrapped its record 16-week stay atop the chart

March 16, 1996: Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men's 'One Sweet Day' Makes History On Hot 100On this date (March 16) in 1996, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One
Sweet Day" spent its 16th and final week atop the Billboard Hot 100,
wrapping the longest reign for any title in the chart's history.

The song's success was hardly surprising, given Carey and Boyz II
Men's track records in the '90s. It had already passed the prior-record
14-week commands of two titles: Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love
You" and Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love to You." (Three songs have since
also led for 14 weeks each, including Carey's "We Belong Together," in
2005.)

Here's a look at the songs that have logged the most time at No. 1 in the Hot 100's 55-year archives:

Weeks at No. 1, Title, Artist, Year Reached No. 1

16, "One Sweet Day," Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men, 1995

14, "I Gotta Feeling," the Black Eyed Peas, 2009

14, "We Belong Together," Mariah Carey, 2005

14, "Candle in the Wind 1997"/"Something About the Way You Look Tonight," Elton John, 1997

14, "Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)," Los Del Rio, 1996

14, "I'll Make Love to You," Boyz II Men, 1994

14, "I Will Always Love You," Whitney Houston, 1992

13, "The Boy Is Mine," Brandy & Monica, 1998

13, "End of the Road," Boyz II Men, 1992

12, "Blurred Lines," Robin Thicke feat. T.I. + Pharrell, 2013

12, "Boom Boom Pow," the Black Eyed Peas, 2009

12, "Yeah!," Usher feat. Lil Jon & Ludacris, 2004

12, "Lose Yourself," Eminem, 2002

12, "Smooth," Santana feat. Rob Thomas, 1999

Aided by the record domination of "Sweet," which debuted at No. 1 on
the Dec. 2, 1995, Hot 100, Carey boasts the most total weeks at No. 1
(79) for any artist in the Hot 100's history. The Beatles rank second
with 59, followed by Rihanna (51) and Boyz II Men (50). (Boyz II Men,
meanwhile, are the only act with at least three singles that have each
spent 12 weeks or more at No. 1.)

Carey's 18 Hot 100 No. 1s are the most among soloists and second only to the Beatles' 20.

Carey, currently climbing Adult R&B Songs and Rhythmic Songs with
"You're Mine (Eternal)," the first single from her May 6 studio album,
received a glowing review in the Nov. 4, 1995, Billboard issue for
"Sweet" (the same week that Billboard also praised Madonna's "You'll
See" and Alanis Morissette's "Hand in My Pocket"). "Expect big chart
numbers," Billboard accurately predicted of the ballad, the second
single from Carey's album "Daydream"; lead track "Fantasy" ruled the Hot
100 for eight weeks (before being displaced by "Sweet") and third
single "Always Be My Baby" led for two.

"Its success will be much deserved, as Carey's increasingly mature
and soulful delivery effectively melts into Boyz II Men's wall-to-wall
harmonies, combining to give depth to the song's lyrics, which offer a
heartfelt farewell to friends who have passed."

In addition to the Hot 100, "Sweet" crowned Radio Songs for 13 weeks,
Pop Songs, Adult Contemporary (11 each) and Rhythmic Songs (nine). It
also topped the first Adult Pop Songs chart, which launched the same
week that it completed its unparalleled Hot 100 command.

At the end of the '90s, "Sweet" was honored as the Hot 100's top song of the decade.

“Blow” Is Beyonce’s 19th Dance/Club Play Chart-Topper

While Beyonce‘s “Drunk In Love” has been unavoidable on urban and pop radio, the double entendre-heavy disco anthem “Blow” has been burning up dance floors. Today (March 10) Billboard revealed that the Pharrell/Timbaland-produced toe-tapper has roller-skated all the way to the top of the Dance Club Songs chart.
That’s fairly impressive for a song without a big-name remix package but there’s more. “Blow” becomes Bey’s 19th number one on the chart, making her the equal third (she ties with Janet Jackson) most successful dance artist in history. Only Madonna and Rihanna have racked up more visits to the summit. See the all-time list after the jump.
Artists with the most number ones of the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart:
1. Madonna — 43
2. Rihanna — 21
3. Janet Jackson — 19 (tie)
3. Beyonce — 19 (tie)
5. Donna Summer — 17
6. Mariah Carey — 16
6. Kristine W — 16
8. Jennifer Lopez — 14
9. Whitney Houston — 13 (tie)
9. Lady Gaga — 13 (tie)
9. Katy Perry — 13 (tie)

Madonna Announces Collaboration With Avicii

Avicii is joined by Madonna at Ultra Music Festival 14 on March 24th, 2012 in Miami.

Madonna's
got something in the works with Avicii. The material girl announced an
upcoming collaboration with the EDM star on Friday night over Instagram,
sending out a photo of herself cleaning her bathroom while dressed in
black fishnets with the caption, "Doing some house work after 4 hours of
sleep which is why i cant spell! On my way to the studio to work with
Avicii!"

See Where Avicii Ranks on Our List of 25 DJs that Rule the Earth

It's not yet clear what form the collaboration will take, but Madonna revealed to the Canadian Press
last month that she was planning a new album. "Yes, plans are in the
works already. Don't ask me with who, it's a secret, top secret,"
Madonna told the news agency.

This wouldn't be the first pairing of the two artists. In 2012, Madonna made a surprise appearance at Miami's Ultra Music Festival to introduce the Swedish DJ and his remix of her MDNA single, "Girl Gone Wild."

While Madonna's been keeping busy this year with a load of high-profile appearances (including Miley Cyrus' MTV Unplugged concert, the Grammys and the Amnesty International benefit concert), Avicii's been on something of a hot streak himself, with the massive success of his first album, True and the EDM-country-hybrid single, "Wake Me Up." The DJ otherwise known as Tim Bergling recently spoke with Rolling Stone
about what he looks for in a collaborator. "I'm pretty open-minded: I
just look for talent," he said. "I can work with singers, but I get
along better with other songwriters because it's a more creative
environment. I'm very particular about certain things. Melody, I'm a
super control freak. But rhythms and lyrics, I let go a lot more."

Kelly Osbourne and Lady Gaga bury the hatchet at Elton John's Oscars viewing party

It's no secret that Kelly Osbourne and Lady Gaga have had a fiery relationship in the
past year, but good news everyone, they buried the hatchet at Elton
John's Oscars party.

Kelly Osbourne and Lady Gaga kiss and make upThe 27-year-old pop singer arrived at Elton John's Oscars party,
and after schmoozing with her pal (and boss), Donatella Versace,
and the legend that is Jane Fonda, she ended up posing for a
picture with her old nemesis, Kelly Osbourne.

A new style: The star made sure all eyes were on her at the prestigious eventHurrah, surely this means that the feud is over!?

A relieved Kelly tweeted: 'Peace at last.'

Other stars in attendance included Britney Spears and boyfriend
David Lucado, Robert De Niro, Ed Sheeran, Chace Crawford, Ryan
Kwanten, Alex Pettyfer, Eric McCormack, Jonathan Groff, Sheryl
Crow, Cheryl Burke, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, Heidi Klum and
Ashley Greene.

On 11 January 2013, we wrote...

Sharon Osbourne has written a letter of
support for her daughter Kelly Osbourne, after Lady Gaga responded to Kelly's claims she'd
been bullied by the singer's fans.

After Kelly revealed she had received death threats and was
bullied via social media, Lady Gaga wrote that though she had
"empathy" for Kelly and "felt badly that [her] feelings were
hurt", she thought the show that Kelly works on, Fashion Police,
"breeds negativity" and urged the presenter to "to take
responsibility and accountability for the example that you are
setting for young people".

Sharon Osbourne responded to Lady Gaga's letter with one of her
own on her official Facebook page. She said that Lady Gaga's
response would have been more "diginitfied" had it been given in
private and said the letter was "hypocritical and full of
contradictions".

She added that: "A word from you would stop all the hideous,
negative and vile threats from your "little monsters." Let me know
if you want to continue this debate."

And as your mother Cynthia supports you, I support my daughter
Kelly. I must say your opinions on what is politically correct and
acceptable totally differ from mine, but that is what makes the
world so interesting… we are all different.

See the letter in full below…

Ms. Gaga,

I am responding to your open letter to my daughter Kelly, and I am
perplexed as to why you would go public with an open
letter.

Regarding this current situation; Kelly didn't contact you, I was
the one that contacted your manager today and the email is attached
below for your reference. I reached out to him as Kelly's manager
and mother to ask him if you could address your "little monster"
fans and stop them from writing libelous, slanderous and vile
comments about my family, including death threats to
Kelly.

Your open letter is hypocritical and full of contradictions. And
as your mother Cynthia supports you, I support my daughter Kelly. I
must say your opinions on what is politically correct and
acceptable totally differ from mine, but that is what makes the
world so interesting… we are all different.

How sweet that you have empathy for my daughter, as you feel that
she has taken a less passionate path in life. You say her work on
E! with the Fashion Police is "rooted in criticism, judgment, and
rating people's beauty against one another". Welcome to the real
world. Example, when I saw you wear a dress made out of raw meat, I
was sickened. When I see you wearing fur, and using it as a fashion
statement, the fact that defenseless animals have been killed so
you can get your picture in the press is abhorrent to me. Shouldn't
you be teaching your "little monster" fans to respect animals and
life?

I don't feel I have to justify Kelly's choices in life to you. By
your actions to Kelly right now, you have shown me that you are
nothing more than a publicly (sic) seeking hypocrite and an
attention seeker. You know it would have been much more dignified
of you to do this privately. I am calling you a bully because you
have 32 million followers hanging on your every word and you are
criticising Kelly in your open letter. Are you so desperate that
you needed to make this public?

You state, "Everyday, through my music and public voice I choose
to be positive and work towards a kinder and braver world with our
community of followers." Well this obviously is not translating
well to your fans, as a large portion of them have not only been
vile to Kelly, but also other celebrities such as Madonna, Adele
and Rihanna. You say "a kinder, braver world". I don't know what
world you live in, but supporting disgraceful fan comments doesn't
fall under the words "kinder and braver". It comes under the
heading of bulls**t.

In closing, stop wearing fur, stop looking for publicity, and stop
using your fans to belittle not just Kelly but an endless stream of
celebrities. A word from you would stop all the hideous, negative
and vile threats from your "little monsters". Let me know if you
want to continue this debate. I'm an open playing field for you my
darling.

Sincerely,

Sharon Osbourne

Just After 1- Year Of Marriage Janet Jackson Considering Divorce

Hmm,Hollywood marriages.
According to reports Janet Jackson is preparing to divorce her
billionaire husband Wissam Al Mana after just one year of marriage. The National Enquirer reports:

“Janet is ready to throw in the towel,” disclosed an insider. “She’s realized she made a colossal mistake in marrying Wissam. Janet gave up her career to be a dutiful wife – and she even took up Islam for him.

But Wissam,39, who comes for the Middle Eastern State of Qatar,
hasn’t made any sacrifices for his 47-year-old wife, according to the
insider, who adds: “He travels constantly for work, and Janet wonders if
he’s been tempted to stray.

“She’s confided to a few close friends and (her mother) that she’s preparing to leave him. And she’s been calling friends at all hours, crying and saying how miserable she is.

As the Enquirer reported Wissam had demanded Janet sign a prenup.
She wanted a guaranteed $500 million if the marriage failed before two
years, but Wissam held out and said he wouldn’t pay her a dime unless it
lasted at least five years.

Now sources say Janet is getting set to challenge the prenup and demand a fat lump sum payout from his fortune. “Her argument is that she gave up millions in earnings for her husband,” explained the insider. “Janet isn’t going to give Wissam a dime of her hard-earned cash. However, she’s going to fight tooth and nail for a chunk of his!
