Blake Lively of "Gossip Girl" fame was excited to become an action hero in "Green Lantern," but she's even more excited to become a villain in future film installments of the comic book franchise.
"I would love to come back and play Star Sapphire because she's a villain," Lively told OnTheRedCarpet.com special correspondent George Pennacchio of KABC Television at the film's recent Hollywood premiere. "That seems like the best way to do an action film, so I don't know! Who knows? We'll see!"
"Green Lantern" is based on the DC Comic book that follows fighter pilot Hal Jordan (Reynolds), who becomes the first human inducted into the Green Lantern Corps., a brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order. Each Green Lantern wears a ring that gives him super powers. The Green Lanterns come together to fight a new enemy called Parallax and with the help of his fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), Jordan overcomes his fear to join the fight.
Lively's character starts the series as an ally, but if the franchise continues, audiences will eventually see her character Carol turn into the villain Star Sapphire.
The actress was enthusiastic to become an action star and told OnTheRedCarpet.com in a recent interview that she was especially excited to get a Barbie doll in her likeness. She said that the high-paced lifestyle wasn't so different from her everyday life though.
"I think that I'm Jason Bourne in real life, so I'm living that," Lively joked.
Lively is best known for her role of socialite Serena van der Woodsen in the CW show, "Gossip Girl" and has starred in films like "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee" and "The Town."
The 23-year-old actress recently made headlines over a string of nude photos, which her rep said were not authentic. Lively has also been in the headlines due to photographs of her together with Leonardo DiCaprio, who recently broke up with Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli.
