“Glee” characters, but they don’t have to miss their favorite actors.
The “Glee” series finale airs Friday, but the stars of the Fox show are far from unemployed. Check out what projects cast members are tackling next:
Lea Michele – The singer,
28, is going to give her pipes a rest as she heads to another TV show,
“Scream Queens.” The comedic horror series was created by “Glee”
showrunner Ryan Murphy and will air on Fox. Don’t expect Michele to play
another Rachel Berry character, though.
"My character is very different than anything you've ever seen me do before," Michele teased to Entertainment Tonight. "So you won't see me or Rachel Berry anywhere in there. I can assure you of that."
Matthew Morrison – Many fans have noticed that the
actor who plays Mr. Schuester hasn’t been making the rounds on talk
shows to promote the “Glee” finale. His absence is due to his return to
Broadway. Morrison, 36, is portraying “Peter Pan” author J.M. Barrie in
“Finding Neverland.” The musical, based on the 2004 film, started
previews on March 15 and officially opens on April 15 at the
Lunt-Fontanne Theater, Broadway.com reports.
Chris Colfer – The author, 24, will continue to
write novels for his children’s series “The Land of Stories,” after he
takes his last bow as Kurt Hummel on "Glee." He signed a deal last year
to publish five more novels, Deadline
reports. When he isn’t writing, he’ll be starring in a Noel Coward
biopic. Colfer will portray the famous British playwright, according to Screen Daily.
Darren Criss – Like Morrison, Criss will also return
to the Great White Way after playing Blaine Anderson. The actor, 28,
took a break from “Glee” Season 3 to make his Broadway debut in “How to
Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” and he is headed straight
back after the “Glee” finale.
On April 29, he’ll take over the role of Hedwig, a German transgender
rock star, in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” at the Belasco Theater. Criss
called the character a “crazy, mean, fun, rock‘n’roll princess” during
an interview with “On Air with Mario Lopez.”
Kevin McHale – The Texas native will leave behind
Artie’s wheelchair and the United States. McHale hosts a British comedy
show called “Virtually Famous,” which was picked up for two more seasons.
He’ll also star as a young man who pretends to be a Kennedy in the
comedy “They Might Be Kennedys,” alongside Aaron Tveit. The movie is
scheduled to film this summer, according to Playbill.
Jenna Ushkowitz – The face of Tina Cohen-Chang is stepping behind the camera. She executive-produced a documentary called “Twinsters,”
which premiered at SXSW this week. The film follows Samantha Futerman
and Anaïs Bordier, twins who were separated at birth and accidentally
found each other on Facebook.
