Scarlett Johansson Pregnant: Actress' Pregnancy Confirmed by Movie Producer

SCARLETT Johansson is 100% pregnant — according to a Marvel producer!
The actress — who’s widely believed to be expecting her first child with fiance Romain Dauriac — looked stunning on her first red carpet for months.

Scarlett revealed a tiny bump in her plunging lace corset dress at the Captain American: The Winter Soldier world premiere in Hollywood on Thursday evening.

Although Scarlett has not confirmed her pregnancy, a Marvel producer
appeared to accidentally let the news slip in an interview about
scheduling for the new film.

Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige confirmed her maternity in an interview about The Avengers: Age of Ultron, reports Collider.

“Well my first reaction was I was very happy for her and very excited for her,” he said.

“My second reaction was we’ve got to move some pieces on the chess
board around schedule-wise. But we didn’t change the script at all,
which is sort of the most important things for us in terms of the
storyline.”

Earlier this year, the Avengers actress hinted she was looking
forward to starting a family. It is believed she is five months pregnant
is due in August.

“At some point it is something I forward to. I am fortunate in that I
have had a long career – 20 years – that has been very diverse,” she
said.

Malaysian Prime Minister: Missing Plane Was Deliberately Diverted

Malaysian Prime Minister: Missing Plane Was Deliberately Diverted
SExpand
In a news conference on missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 today,
Prime Minister Najib Razak declared that the plane was deliberately
diverted from its prescribed route to Beijing, flying up to seven hours
after takeoff, says The New York Times.
Malaysian authorities have released a map plotting the plane's last
satellite signals somewhere along two large arcs crossing Asia.

Mr. Najib said the last satellite transmissions from the plane, which
originated either from an arc between Kazakhstan and Thailand or
another arc between Indonesia and the Indian Ocean, indicate a
purposeful change to the flight path. "These movements are consistent
with deliberate action by someone on the plane," Mr. Najib said.

The news comes after yesterday's assertion that the plane made a rapid climb past 45,000 feet and changed course several times after disappearing from radar.

The northern flight approximation calculated from the plane's last
satellite signal would have the plane passing through highly militarized
airspace, including areas patrolled by the U.S. military, NYT reports. Mikael Robertsson, a global aviation tracking expert, told The New York Times
that the plane's communications systems were shut down as the flight
transitioned from Malaysian to Vietnamese air traffic control space, in a
way that would make the plane's absence less noticeable.

NYT also reports that police officers raided the residential compound today where Flight 370's pilot lived.

Malaysia 370 Investigation Turns to Crew, Passengers as 'Deliberate Act' Comes into Focus

370
The international investigation into Malaysia 370, the Boeing 777
disappearance that is captivating the world, continues to take new
twists every few hours. Now, authorities are saying that the plane flew
for as many as seven hours after being diverted.

Malaysia's Prime Minister announced that it has now become a criminal
investigation as location data made that theory almost impossible to
deny. The NYT:

According to Mr. Najib, a satellite orbiting 22,250 miles (35,800
kilometers) over the middle of the Indian Ocean received a transmission
that, based on the angle of transmission from the plane, came from a
location somewhere along one of two arcs. One arc runs from the southern
border of Kazakhstan in Central Asia to northern Thailand. The other
runs from near Jakarta, Indonesia, to the Indian Ocean, roughly 1,000
miles off the west coast of Australia.

“These movements are
consistent with deliberate action by someone on the plane,” Mr. Najib
said. He noted that one communications system had been disabled as the
plane flew over the northeast coast of Malaysia. A second system, a
transponder aboard the aircraft, abruptly stopped broadcasting its
location, altitude, speed and other information a few minutes later, at
1:21 a.m., while the plane was one-third of the way across the Gulf of
Thailand from Malaysia to Vietnam.

Any number of places are now in the search area:

The arc passes close to northern Iran, through Afghanistan and
northern Pakistan, and through northern India and the Himalayan
mountains and Myanmar.

An aircraft flying on that arc would have
to pass through air-defense networks in India and Pakistan, whose mutual
border is heavily militarized, as well as through Afghanistan, where
the United States and other NATO countries have operated air bases for
more than a decade.

Air bases near that arc include Bagram
Airfield in Afghanistan, where the United States Air Force’s 455th Air
Expeditionary Wing is based, and a large Indian air base, Hindon Air
Force Station.

The Indian Ocean, the third-largest in the world, has an average depth of more than 12,000 feet, or more than two miles.

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Was Hijacked or Sabotaged, Officials Say

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Was Hijacked or Sabotaged, Officials Say
SExpand
In the face of emerging radar data and a week of fruitless searching,
Malaysia Prime Minister Najib Razak announced on Saturday that his
country believes missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was deliberately taken off course.

Where unnamed officials earlier in the week leaked that the plane might have flown for four hours after its last official communication, Malaysian authorities said today that the Boeing 777 could have traveled for as much seven hours after its last known position.

The official confirmation by Malaysian authorities that the working
hypothesis now revolves around hijacking/sabotage instead of mechanical
or pilot error links with news reports from the past few days that
stated the plane had ascended after its last communication and traveled along an established western route across the Indian Ocean.

Still, Malaysian authorities did not say where exactly they think the
plane ended up. Though all leaked information since the disappearance
has indicated that Flight 370 headed west after it vanished from radar,
Malaysia released a map today that allows for the possibility that it
actually headed south.

Those red lines signify the two routes officials believe the plane
followed. The northern route takes the plane over mainland China and up
towards Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. The southern route would have taken
Flight 370 past the western coast of Australia and over the part of the Indian Ocean where basically nothing exists.

At his press conference, Najib said that his country has "refocused their investigation on crew and passengers aboard" the aircraft. That digging has started with the plane's captain, 53-year-old Zaharie Ahmad Shah, whose home was searched shortly after the completion of Najib's remarks.

Whoever flew the plane away from its intended destination had a deep working knowledge of the Boeing 777. The Wall Street Journal reports that disabling the plane's transponder would have required someone accessing a circuit breaker
behind an overhead panel in the cockpit. The paper also reports that
officials are investigating whether someone would have had to climb down
into the plane's lower deck to access an electronics bay in order to
stop the plane from pinging its location to satellites.

If there is any concrete evidence of where the plane might be or why
it was commandeered, officials haven't yet let it out either officially
or anonymously through the press. So, of course, most theories are still
plausible, except perhaps for this one:

Thankfully, it's not like that guy owns a news network or anything.

Jennifer Lopez is stunner in the new video for “I Luh Ya PaPi” (featuring French Montana) taken from her upcoming 10th studio album. She dons several different looks from the course of her career.
I’ve got to give it to her. After all these years, she’s STILL got it. J.Lo did her thing in this video. The song is rather catchy, but not all that. Actually, it is pretty good. The video makes it much bette.r It hasn’t been performing well since release on Tuesday but do you think Lopez will get a hit?

Demi Lovato condemns Lady Gaga for glamorizing eating disorders

Demi Lovato took to Twitter yesterday to condemn Lady Gaga for glamorizing eating disorders.
Lady Gaga let a woman vomit on her at SXSW this week because of art during a performance of “Swine”.
Demi wrote that it wasn’t “cool” or “artsy”. Her message has been retweeted over 25K times.
I agree with Demi.
Lady Gaga’s desperation knows no bounds after her latest album ARTPOP failed to sell as much her previous works but I’m not surprised. Gaga’s moral compass is evidently quite low. She already fleeced her fans with her shady charity when it was revealed that she only donated $5,000 after raising $2 million.

Lady Gaga -- Lets Some Girl VOMIT ON HER During SXSW Show

031414_lady_gaga_vomit_launch

Lady Gaga's
antics are sometimes vomit inducing, but this is ridiculous ... last
night at her SXSW show, she actually let some chick VOMIT ALL OVER HER
while she performed.

The vomiter is no amateur ... she's actually a "vomit painter" (actual profession) named Millie Brown, who is known for drinking various liquids and then vomiting them up onto a canvas. In this case ... the canvas was Lady Gaga.

Gaga
was playing drums on a song called "Swine" when Brown, after drinking
neon green liquid, proceeded to stand over her, stick her fingers down
her throat, and vomit the green liquid all over Gaga.

Watch the performance for yourself ... it's sick. Literally.

Amanda Seyfried Accidentally Carried a Knife On to a Plane, Alerts Security on Twitter

Well, that's no good.

During a flight earlier today, Amanda Seyfried
accidentally went onboard with her pocket knife still in her possession
because it was undetected by airport security. Once she realized what
happened, she took a photo of it and tweeted to let TSA know what
happened (so that things like this hopefully don't happen again).

Seyfried wrote, "Dear TSA: This Swiss Army knife wasn't detected through security and I unknowingly carried it on board. Scary!"

Yes, scary indeed!

VIDEO: Amanda Seyfried kicks some butt in self-defense training video

This isn't the first time the actress has had a less-than-desirable situation happen while flying.

In late February, the actress reportedly threw a fit
after landing at Los Angeles International Airport when realizing paps
and fans were waiting for her. "How the f--k did you know I'd be on this
flight?" the movie star asked fans and paparazzi waiting at her gate.
The Ted 2star allegedly shouted, "I hate American Airlines!"

Seyfried
allegedly continued to vent her frustrations, yelling, "They always tip
people off on where celebrities are going to be...Their customer
service is so poor. They don't even have a greeter for me."

She later tweeted, "Quiz: Which airline hires sweaty robot photographers to stalk their passengers? #businessasusual."

'Marriage Boot Camp' Husband -- I Got Gay Men Off ... For Money

0310-article-johnny-walsh-sg4ge
Porn has ripped marriages apart before ... but not like this.

TMZ has learned, one of the husbands from Season 2 of "Marriage Boot Camp" once did porn for a gay website called "Straight Guys for Gay Eyes."

Shaun Sulligan -- porn name Johnny Walsh -- shot two scenes for the website back in 2009 ... one sex scene with a woman and one solo masturbation scene.

It's
pretty unusual -- the website basically markets straight sex to a gay
male audience ... focusing on the man's body instead of the woman's. But
hey, whatever floats your boat.

Sources close to the show tell
us, Shaun's porn past has become a sore subject in his marriage and will
be addressed on the show.

FYI, Shaun shot the porn the same year he met his wife Sofia -- we're guessing she's not too happy about that.

MARRIAGE BOOTCAMP: Husband Did Straight-For-Gay Porn

Halle Berry & Olivier Martinez are fighting a lot & close to breaking up, sources claim

wenn20439774
Halle Berry & Kate Hudson’s relationship dramas cover the new
issue of Star Magazine. Hudson’s near-breakup with Matthew Bellamy has
already been established, but we haven’t heard much about Halle in a
while, right? She’s been suspiciously quiet. I guess most people were
just like, “Eh, she had a baby, there’s probably no drama.” Well, there’s drama. At least according to Star Mag, and now the NYDN.

Let’s do Star first, because I think they broke the story. A story which I have to say has been flat-out denied to Gossip Cop and the NYDN by Halle’s rep. The basic gist of Star’s story is that Halle is “on the brink of a nasty split” from Olivier Martinez and that their marriage is “already in shambles… they have been fighting nonstop…things are really bad.” A source tells Star that Olivier thinks Halle has been spending too much time “working and trying to lose weight and not enough time with their baby.” For Halle’s part, she finds Olivier to be controlling and jealous and she hates that he’s trying to “tell her what to do.”
Halle has been working with Goran Visnjic and Olivier is very, very
jelly, according to Star. Halle went to some events on Oscar weekend
and she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring. DRAMZ. Now the NYDN reports:

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are on the fast track to
splitsville, a well-placed source tells Confidenti@l. The duo, who
announced their engagement in 2012 and married in July 2013 at Chateau
des Conde in Vallery, France, have recently been living separate lives,
we hear.

Our Hollywood insiders speculate that the reason for the tension is
that the pair have drifted apart because of hectic work schedules. Berry
is now shooting her new CBS series, “Extant,” in Los Angeles, while
Martinez has been busy working on “Revenge” in a guest-star role that
starts Sunday on the hit ABC show.

Once paparazzi darlings, Berry, 47, and Martinez, 48, have not been
seen in public together in months. Making whispers of their split even
stronger, Berry was not wearing her wedding ring as the special guest at
a post-Oscars party. Meanwhile, Martinez was nowhere to be seen.

The formerly PDA-loving couple were last seen in public together on
Dec. 7 looking glum as they took in a performance of “The Lion King” at
the Pantages Theater in Hollywood. Berry and Martinez have a son,
Maceo, born in October 2013. Berry also has a 6-year-old daughter,
Nahla, from her relationship with model Gabriel Aubry.

Meanwhile, on the work front, a source who was on the set of “X Men:
Days of Future Past,” tells us Berry, who plays Storm, was cut out of
every scene but one in post-production. While filming, her role was
reduced due to her pregnancy, but it turned out to be more of a cut than
was expected.

“She only has one line in the whole movie,” our source says. “They’re not telling her until the movie comes out.”

(They can thank us later.)

Berry’s indecisive flack Meredith O’Sullivan Wasson first told us “no
comment” then reached out later asking to change her answer to, “This
story is completely untrue.” A rep for Martinez didn’t get back to us.
[From The NYDN]

OMG, that detail about X-Men: Days of Future Past is
CRAZY!!! Halle was in Canada filming while pregnant, I can’t believe
they cut almost all of her scenes. She’s going to be furious. But if
she got paid… maybe it wouldn’t be that big of a deal…?

Anyway, as for Olivier and Halle… I mean, maybe it’s true, maybe not.
My gut says that they’re probably having problems and my gut also says
that it’s been a long time coming. If they are splitting up… Olivier
better watch his ass. We’ve been telling him this whole time that what
Halle did to Gabriel Aubry should be viewed as a preview of how she will
handle this breakup.

Chris Brown -- Jailed After Being Thrown Out of Rehab ... Again

0314-chris-brown-02
Chris Brown
is on his way to jail right now, because he violated a judge's order by
getting booted from the rehab facility where he's been living for
nearly 4 months ... TMZ has learned.

The judge in the Rihanna
beating case ordered Chris to live in the Malibu rehab facility for 90
days to get anger management therapy, and he completed the stint earlier
this month.  BUT ... at the last court hearing, the judge modified
things and ordered Chris to stay in the facility while the Washington
D.C. assault case ran its course.

The deal was this ... if Chris left rehab, he would go directly to jail.

Sources
familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Brown was thrown out of the
rehab facility this morning, for violating "internal rules."  We do not
know precisely what Chris did, but we're told it did not involve
violence or drugs.

Sources tell TMZ ... Chris was caught having
"an inappropriate relationship" with a female worker at the beginning of
the month, but that is NOT why he was thrown out today.

As you recall, Chris was previously thrown out of a different facility for throwing a rock at his mom's car window.

Chris was picked up by L.A. County Sheriff's deputies this afternoon and is now in jail ...being held with no bail.

Brooke Burke-Charvet Admits She Doesn't Quite Understand Dancing With the Stars Ouster

Video Thumbnail: What’s Next for Brooke Burke-Charvet?
The
former “DWTS” host shares her upcoming projects, opens up about being
axed and weighs in on Cody Simpson’s outrageous “Dancing” contract!

Brooke Burke-Charvet remains a little confused about her sudden departure from Dancing With the Stars—but she's optimistically hoping for the best for everyone involved.

"Well,
I found out on a Friday, just like you guys found out on a Friday, and I
think I don't quite understand it, like a lot of people," the season
seven champ turned cohost for seven seasons said today during her
sit-down on E! News. "I'm a little sad to see Harold Wheeler
and the band go, that was the soul of the show. A lot of changes, but
for me I think, in the bigger picture, it's a really good thing."

PHOTOS: Hottest DWTS contestants

Brooke exclusively confirmed to E! News on Feb. 21 (yes, a Friday) that she wouldn't be returning as cohost. Erin Andrews was revealed as Brooke's replacement two days later and will be joining Tom Bergeron as he embarks on his 18th season as emcee on Monday.

"I don't have any hard feelings," Brooke assured E! News' Terrence Jenkins and Ali Fedotowski. "I'm
doing an ABC sitcom for the next few weeks, I'm movin' on. I had eight
fabulous seasons [including being a contestant]. I celebrate it.

"I
think I did everything I could do in the ballroom, you know," she
added, "and I take that as a blessing, and I'm excited. I have a new
project, I might do something totally different. I'm going to dabble in
the sitcom world a little bit, I mean, who knows?"

The married mother of four is shooting a two-episode guest arc on ABC Family's Melissa & Joey, alongside Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence, both past DWTS contestants.

While Terrence and Ali had her in studio, they of course wanted her take on a new report that season 18 contestant Cody Simpson, who is only 17, has a contract that requires him to keep his microphone pack on at all times.

"I
have never heard anything about that, but I'll 'fess up a little bit:
Sometimes I wouldn't even take my mic off when I would have to run to
the ladies room," Brooke said.

"But that doesn't make a whole lot
of sense." However, she added, "but in their defense they do have to
capture all moments so they can build their story lines."

Asked if
the contestants are allowed to approach a producer to discuss getting
certain footage omitted, say if he or she blows up during rehearsal in
embarrassing fashion, Brooke said, "They want to show that, they want to
really develop those stories, which is fair, but I haven't heard
anything about [Cody's alleged contract]."

"I didn't get involved
on that side of it," she added, "but everything is being taped and
captured, so what we see really happens. I will say that much."

Chris Brown Kicked Out Of Rehab, Headed To Jail

Dude's got issues.

Chris Brown has been booted from the rehab facility where he has been
living for the past four months and is on his way to jail, reports TMZ. He was allegedly arrested in Malibu, via the Lost Hills Sheriff's Department.

chris-brown-bipolars.jpgThe 24-year-old was first ordered into the treatment center for 90
days for anger management therapy. He completed the stint earlier this
month, however a judge ordered the "Loyal" singer to stay two extra
months while his Washington D.C. assault case is being resolved. In
addition, the judge stated that if the felon left prior to the added 60
days, he would have to go to jail immediately -- which is exactly what
appears to be happening right now.

Sources are saying that Brown was thrown out of the rehab facility
earlier this morning, for violating "internal rules."  While Chris was
sent away for his anger issues, the incident did not involve violence or drugs.

Despite being caught having "an inappropriate relationship" with a
female worker earlier this month, the publication claims that this is
not the reason for his dismissal today.

This isn't the first time the "Forever" crooner has been thrown out
of a rehab facility. Previously, he was kicked out of a treatment center
for throwing a rock at his mom's car window.  Classy move!

Reportedly, the L.A. County Sheriff's deputies have just picked up Chris and are en route to jail.

Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. Go directly to jail, Chris Brown.

Lost Malaysian airliner may have run out of fuel over Indian Ocean: source

Military officer Nguyen Tran looks out from a Vietnam Air Force AN-26 aircraft during a mission to find the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, off Con Dao island, March 14, 2014. REUTERS/Kham

(Reuters) - Faint electronic signals sent to satellites from a
missing Malaysian jetliner show it may have been flown thousands of
miles off course before running out of fuel over the Indian Ocean, a
source familiar with official U.S. assessments said.

Analysis in Malaysia and the United States of military radar tracking
and pulses detected by satellites are starting to piece together an
extraordinary picture of what may have happened to the plane after it
lost contact with civilian air traffic.

The fate of Malaysian
Airlines Flight MH370, and the 239 passengers and crew aboard, has been
shrouded in mystery since it vanished off Malaysia's east coast less
than an hour into a March 8 scheduled flight from Kuala Lumpur to
Beijing.

Investigators are focusing increasingly on foul play, as
evidence suggests the plane turned sharply west after its disappearance
and - with its communications systems deliberately switched off -
continued to fly for perhaps several hours.

"What we can say is we
are looking at sabotage, with hijack still on the cards," said the
source, a senior Malaysian police official.

A U.S. source familiar
with the investigation said there was also discussion within the U.S.
government that the plane's disappearance might have involved an act of
piracy.

SATELLITE PULSES

A source familiar with data the
U.S. government is receiving from the investigation said the pulses sent
to satellites were ambiguous and had been interpreted to provide two
different analyses.

The electronic signals were believed to have
been transmitted for several hours after the plane flew out of radar
range, said the source familiar with the data.

The most likely
possibility is that, after travelling northwest, the Boeing 777-200ER
made a sharp turn to the south, over the Indian Ocean where officials
think, based on the available data, it flew until it ran out of fuel and
crashed into the sea, added the source.

The other interpretation is that Flight MH370 continued to fly to the northwest and headed over Indian territory.

The
source added that it was believed unlikely the plane flew for any
length of time over India because that country has strong air defense
and radar coverage and that should have allowed authorities there to see
the plane and intercept it.

Either way, the analysis of satellite
data appears to support the radar evidence outlined by sources familiar
with the investigation in Malaysia.

Two sources told Reuters that
military radar data showed an unidentified aircraft that investigators
suspect was Flight MH370 following a commonly used commercial,
navigational route towards the Middle East and Europe.

That course
- headed into the Andaman Sea and towards the Bay of Bengal in the
Indian Ocean - could only have been set deliberately, either by flying
the Boeing 777-200ER jet manually or by programming the auto-pilot.

"NOT A NORMAL INVESTIGATION"

The
disappearance of the Boeing 777 - one of the safest commercial jets in
service - is shaping into one of the most baffling mysteries in aviation
history.

It is extremely rare for a modern passenger aircraft to
disappear once it has reached cruising altitude, as MH370 had. When that
does happen, the debris from a crash is usually found close to its last
known position relatively quickly.

In this case, there has been
no trace of the plane, nor any sign of wreckage, as the navies and
military aircraft of more than a dozen countries scour the seas on both
sides of peninsular Malaysia.

"A normal investigation becomes
narrower with time ... as new information focuses the search, but this
is not a normal investigation," Malaysian Transport Minister
Hishammuddin Hussein told a news conference on Friday. "In this case,
the information has forced us to look further and further afield."

India
has deployed ships, planes and helicopters from the remote, forested
and mostly uninhabited Andaman and Nicobar Islands, at the juncture of
the Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea. "This operation is like finding a
needle in a haystack," said Harmeet Singh, spokesman for the armed
forces in the islands.

VAST INDIAN OCEAN

Britain's Inmarsat
said "routine, automated signals" from MH370 were seen on its satellite
network during the plane's flight from Kuala Lumpur and had been shared
with authorities, but gave no other details.

If the jetliner did
fly into the Indian Ocean, a vast expanse with depths of more than 7,000
meters (23,000 feet), the task faced by searchers would become
dramatically more difficult. Winds and currents could shift any surface
debris tens of nautical miles within hours.

"Ships alone are not
going to get you that coverage, helicopters are barely going to make a
dent in it and only a few countries fly P-3s (long-range search
aircraft)," William Marks, spokesman for the U.S. Seventh Fleet, told
Reuters.

The U.S. Navy was sending an advanced P-8A Poseidon plane
to help search the Strait of Malacca, a busy sealane separating the
Malay peninsula from the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It had already
deployed a Navy P-3 Orion aircraft to those waters.

The last
sighting of the aircraft on civilian radar screens came shortly before
1:30 a.m. last Saturday, less than an hour after take-off. It was flying
across the mouth of the Gulf of Thailand on the eastern side of
Malaysia towards Vietnam.

Malaysia's air force chief said on
Wednesday that an aircraft that could have been the missing plane was
plotted on military radar at 2:15 a.m., 200 miles northwest of Penang
Island off Malaysia's west coast.

This position marks the limit of
Malaysia's military radar in that part of the country, another source
familiar with the investigation told Reuters.

Movies: Jake Gyllenhaal² in 'Enemy

Anenemy-twosome

Jake Gyllenhaal can't believe his eyes and doesn't see eye to eye... with Jake Gyllenhaal
BY NATHANIEL ROGERS

Have you ever read Jose Saramago's "Blindness"? That genius novel,
about a sudden epidemic that renders the whole world blind, is hugely
unsettling in content. It's also experimental in form. No character is
named, the two protagonists are only referred to as "The Doctor" and
"The Doctor's Wife", and punctuation is so scarce that there's nothing
to guide you; you have to feel your own way through the blocks of words.
The film version in 2008, which starred Mark Ruffalo and Julianne
Moore, was too traditional in execution and couldn't capture the mad
confusion and haunting power of the book. I haven't read Saramago's
novel "The Double" upon which the new film Enemy is based but no one is
playing it safe in the transfer this time. This is the kind of movie
that feels like a true transfer of surreal text to visuals.

Enemy_ver2_xlg
When
I attended the Toronto Film Festival last fall, I didn't know what to
make of Denis Villeneuve's hallucinatory thriller, which is as far
removed from his other recent mainstream thriller (Prisoners, reviewed)
as it could be. As far as I can tell the new movie is about a
university teacher (Jake Gyllenhaal) who, while absentmindedly watching a
video at home, sees a movie actor (Jake Gyllenhaal) who looks exactly
like him. His initial shock gives way to curiousity and then to
obsession. Things only get weirder and more mysterious from there.
At first all I could think of to describe the movie was other movies, jotting down this short description:

"Take Jake Gyllenhaal's endlessly curious puzzle-loving journalist in Zodiac and
bring along that film's evocative cinematography and color palette.
Split Jake in two with one version schlumpy and Adam Goldberg-like and
the other cockier like Ryan Gosling on a motorbike. Mix in a
disorienting trip to Eyes Wide Shut's plinking-soundtrack'ed
'sex party'. Plop the rest of the film down into four separate settings,
Talent Agency and University and two Gyllenhaal Apartments and make
sure that all of them are as nondescript and sterile as the stockbroker
firm in American Psycho. Throw in a curveball with inexplicable
out-of-time trips to a Video Rental Store. Add two glazy blonde love
interests (Melanie Laurent and Sarah Gadon) who are both confusingly
disappointed; You're sleeping with Gyllenhaal, and possibly even Gyllenhaals, ladies. Cheer the fuck up!"

But that's more like a flailing 'what is it?' cry than a useful take. It doesn't do Enemy
justice since it's often so singular a film experience. This Kafkaesque
confrontation between two men who are exactly the same, only not, is as
propulsively compelling as it is offputting - for a film as crazy as
this one, it's too glum-faced. But it's mercifully paced at a very tight
90 minutes and full of surprises and a perfect unthinkable ending.
Which is why we're not going into plot descriptions. Not that
descriptions of the plot are any way to understand this sort of thing.

Six months later I'm not sure I'm any closer to decoding Enemy,
opening this weekend, and keep flashing back to a cameo from Isabella
Rossellini as Jake Gyllenhaal's mother as if it's a rosetta stone. But which Jake Gyllenhaal is her son? I'm haunted worrying that there's no right answer. Enemy shapeshifts that way after you watch it. It's such a disorienting experience we may need Jake Gyllenhaal, the Zodiac-iteration, to help decode it.

Back to the movie theater, then, for a second helping of Jake
Gyllenhaal, who's already doubled. That makes something like eight Jake
Gyllenhaals but never complain about abundance. .

James Deen Has Invented Sriracha-Flavored “Bronuts” And I’m Horrified

As if James Deen hasn’t brought enough memorable, ahem, treats to this world already, he is now presenting us with what he refers to as “the Deenut” or “the bronut.” In my mind, nothing sounded more amazing than a Deen-themed donut … until I discovered the ingredients. With a range of flavors like Sour Patch Kid, Sriracha, Beer, Dorito, and , I’m not sure I want to try them anytime soon.
In his web series with WoodRocket.com, “James Deen Loves Food,” the porn star has churned out creations like the “World’s Most Expensive Burrito” and the “Turducken Hotdog.” In other words, all of his “meals” from the series look like bro food that would make me want to vom, so he only gets points for inventiveness.
The (safe for work!) of his dessert-making skills is available here…try not to gag when you see the way he clusters Dorito dust atop a donut. If the food looks as vile to you as it does to me, at least allow yourself to be distracted by his sparkly charisma. He’s not a porn star for nothing! [James Deen Loves Food]

'Star Wars: Episode 7': Lupita Nyong'o in the Running for Lead Role

Disney and Lucasfilm have joined forces to launch a new era in the Star Wars universe, beginning with the Disney XD cartoon series Star Wars Rebels in Fall 2014, followed by Episode VII in December 2015.
J.J. Abrams is directing the seventh live-action Star Wars installment, drawing from a script draft that he and Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi co-writer Lawrence Kasdan put together –  a script that, is turn, is based on the earlier screenplay by Oscar-winner Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3The Hunger Games: Catching Fire).
We spent the entirety of 2013 slogging through what felt like endless casting rumors for Episode VII, but of late we’ve been getting some real, solid updates on that front. First, Adam Driver (known best for his work on HBO’s Girls) was revealed to be all but officially-set to play the film’s central antagonist.
Then, just a couple days ago, a credible shortlist of actors who are currently sitting atop the roster of people in consideration to play the young male lead inEpisode VII (read: character deets from an earlier casting call) was revealed.
The latest Episode VII casting update concerns what Latino Review (in its report) dubs a “major female role,” which the site claims Lupita Nyong’o – who just became an Oscar-winner for her performance in Best Picture-winner 12 Years a Slave – has been reading for this past month; as fuel on that fire, the report asserts that Nyong’o is “extremely close” to signing a deal to portray the mystery character in Abrams’ Star Wars movie.
THR is confirming that Nyong’o did, in fact, meet with Abrams for a lead role inEpisode VII, not that long before the 2014 Academy Awards ceremony. The THRarticle doesn’t speculate on her chances, but it does clarify that the 31-year old is not being considered for the young female lead role, but another key role altogether (possibly, a Jedi).

Those who are keeping count may note that it now seems that Episode VII may well have at least three female main characters, including the 20-something lead, the role Nyong’o is in the running for, and Carrie Fisher returning as the elder Leia. That’s a nice change of pace for the live-action Star Wars cinematic-verse, which has a bad habit of under-representing its women.
It’s also true that executives behind Episode VII have financial reasons to want a diverse cast (in terms of both race and gender), which is something we’ve discussed recently with regard to the world of superhero movie casting. That said, it’s not as though the non-white and/or female actors who’ve been rumored for Episode VII are unknowns who are being considered solely to satisfy a certain demographic.
On the contrary, Abrams has been eying some very impressive acting talent for his film; that includes newly-set Fantastic Four reboot star Michael B. Jordan and David Oyelowo (The Butler) early on, followed by Nyong’o and John Boyega (Attack the Block) in more recent times, and possibly even Nyong’o's 12 Years a Slave costar Chiwetel Ejiofor, at one point. Hard to complain about any of those people being cast in a Star Wars film.

Big Albums, But No Big Hot 100 Hits

New Billboard 200 leader Rick Ross is among artists who repeatedly dominate the chart despite having not landed a top 10 Hot 100 hit

With the arrival of "Mastermind" atop the Billboard 200 chart, Rick Ross continues his streak of earning No. 1 albums without ever having tallied a top 10 hit single on the Billboard Hot 100 as a lead artist.
Ross has visited the top 10 of the Hot 100 just once, as a featured act on DJ Khaled's No. 10 hit "I'm on One" in 2011. Ross' highest-charting single as a lead on the Hot 100 is 2008's "The Boss," which reached No. 17. He's made 40 visits to the Hot 100 dating to his first in 2006.
The concept of scoring multiple No. 1 albums without a top 10 hit on the Hot 100 isn't new. Ross is among some of the Billboard 200's biggest stars who've collected top-selling sets but no Hot 100 top 10s. Here are the acts with the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 but who've yet to notch a Hot 100 top 10 (as a lead):
Billboard No. 1s, Artist
7, Kenny Chesney
6, Dave Matthews Band
6, Nas
5, DMX
5, Rick Ross
5, George Strait
The common thread among the acts above with a slew of No. 1 albums but no Hot 100 top 10s? All have strong appeal within their core fanbases but lack crossover interest. Rapper Ross, for example, has logged six top 10 singles (as a lead artist) on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Similarly, country superstar Kenny Chesney, who has the most No. 1 albums without a top 10 Hot 100 hit, has clocked 44 top 10s on Hot Country Songs (with 21 of those hitting No. 1). On the Hot 100, Chesney has risen as high as No. 16 with "Out Last Night" in 2009. Unlike, say, country acts who've managed pop crossover hits like Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Tim McGraw, Chesney has released songs almost exclusively to country radio, with his songs core-country in sound that would be out of place at pop or other formats.
Likewise for George Strait, who's earned five Billboard 200 toppers. The "King of Country" has scored a record 44 Hot Country Songs No. 1s, with the traditional-country icon's music a sonic fit exclusively for his home format.
