Oh, and he’s also kind of not homeless. That too. At least those are
the things being reported about Mr. Jesse Helt, the homeless youth who
accepted Miley Cyrus’ Video of the Year award the other night with a
very moving speech.
Then again, another report says that he actually does have a home, he has just chosen not to stay there…
Don’t get me wrong, the cause Helt and Miley brought attention to is a valid one, but Jesse’s story isn’t quite the type of sob story we were led to believe is it?

E! NewsI suppose some of that is understandable, at least the burglary part if he truly is homeless, but the rest seems a bit shady.
has learned that there is a warrant out for the arrest of the Salem,
Ore., native for violation of probation, stemming from previous charges
including criminal trespassing and criminal mischief.
He was also charged with burglary after a 2010 incident where he attempted to break into an apartment.
According to recent court documents, Helt violated his probation on
numerous occasions after failing to take a drug test, failing to report
to his probation officer, breaching his curfew, not finishing his
community service hours and more.
Then again, another report says that he actually does have a home, he has just chosen not to stay there…
…his proud mother Linda Helt, 62, told MailOnline:So basically he’s chosen to be homeless to pursue his dream rather than go back to a home and family that would welcome him.
“Jesse’s had ups and downs like anybody else… he didn’t wanna give up
and run on home to mommy, but only he knows the reasons, that’s for him
to say.”
Speaking from her home in Salem, Mrs Helt, mother to Jesse’s three
brothers and sister, added Jesse chose to “go it alone” and chase his
dreams.
She said: “He wanted to be in Los Angeles and he had opportunities
and he took them, but you know, he’s had his ups and downs like anybody
else.”
“It was his choice, he was always welcome, he could always come back
any time. If he needed help, I’d help him, we help one another,” she
added.
Don’t get me wrong, the cause Helt and Miley brought attention to is a valid one, but Jesse’s story isn’t quite the type of sob story we were led to believe is it?
