Stephen Colbert on Gwen Stefani's Emmy Name Flub: She's "Evidently Not a Huge Fan"

Stephen Colbert is speaking out about Gwen Stefani's now infamous Emmy flub!



While presenting at the 2014 Emmy Awards on Monday, the No Doubt singer announced Colbert as the winner of Best Variety Series ... but butchered his name while attempting to say "The Colbert Report."



While we're not exactly sure what word Stefani said, it sounded something like "Colbore" or "Colboar." Check out the clip below!



The late night host took Gwen's mistake in stride, joking about it backstage with "Entertainment Tonight's" Nancy O'Dell.



"[She's]
evidently not a huge fan of the show," he said with a smile. "But I'm a
huge fan of hers. I want to get her abs. That's what I aspire to."



Colbert, who is taking over CBS' "Late Show" from David Letterman
next year, continued to have fun with the mistake, referring to Stefani
as Stephanie for the rest of the night -- and even misspelled his name
as "Colbore" during the opening credits of his own show Tuesday.
