Suspected Bali murderer Heather Mack, 19, has claimed that she is
pregnant and police revealed that she had sex with her boyfriend, Tommy
Schaefer, in a five-star hotel room after allegedly killing her mother.
Videos
also surfaced of Ms Mack and her lover partying with her dead mother's
cash, weeks before the trio went on the vacation in Bali where Sheila
von Wiese Mack was murdered and her body was found stuffed in a
bloodstained suitcase.
Ms Mack claims that her pregnancy is ectopic and that it is vital she return home to the U.S. for care.
Ms
Mack, 19, was seen being taken to the obstetrics and gynecology section
of a police hospital in Bali for tests on Friday to find out if her
pregnancy is 'outside the woman', a dangerous condition. Police have not
revealed the results of any tests.
'She has not told us who the
father is, but there are indications that it is her current boyfriend,
Tommy,' a senior officer told MailOnline at police headquarters.

the murder of Sheila von Wiese Mack. The 19-year-old American, who is
shown hiding her face, has claimed that she is pregnant

Investigators are also
trying to establish if Ms Mack’s claimed pregnancy is another reason for
the break down in the already troubled relationship between mother and
daughter.
'We don't know yet
because we have not been able to obtain a statement from either of
them,' said Commander Djoko.
Ms
Mack has refused to make any public comment, except to cry out when
confronted by local photographers when she was led through the hospital.
'Somebody take my hand,' she cried to her escorts, her face shielded by
a green sheet.
While she was still wearing the white
top with a black pattern she was dressed in when arrested at a second
Bali hotel the couple had allegedly fled to, Mr Schaefer, who was also
taken to the hospital, was dressed in an orange prison uniform and,
unlike his girlfriend, handcuffed.
The
lack of statements, said Bali Chief Inspector General Albertus Mokalu, was not
presenting a 'suspect problem' as he alleged enough evidence had been
collated to point guilt at Ms Mack and Mr Schaefer.
Both Ms Mack and Mr Schaefer have been charged with murder and could face the firing
squad if found guilty of a pre-meditated act.
'Why premeditated? Because the victim was stuffed into a bag. It shows planning,' police chief Benny Mokalu told Fairfax Media.

investigating whether this worsened the relationship with her mother,
Sheila von Weise Mack. She is seen here being escorted for a medical
check
Police have claimed that Schaefer, 21, (pictured middle) had sex with
Mack after they killed her mother and stuffed her body in a suitcase
Chief
Inspector Mokalu cited CCTV footage showing Ms Mack and her boyfriend
arguing with Mrs Mack in the hotel lobby, more security footage showing
them all entering the room where Mrs Mack was bludgeoned to death,
fingerprints from bloody pieces of the glass murder weapons,
fingerprints on the silver suitcase into which the body had been crammed
and the fact that the couple had fled out through the rear part of the
hotel after depositing the suitcase in the taxi boot.
Further
compelling evidence against the pair, police allege, is the discovery
that the pair had used Mrs Mack’s credit card to pay for their room at
the Risata Bali resort and spa, a short distance from the airport.
It was there that they had been arrested on Wednesday morning while they were still asleep.
Meanwhile, three weeks before Sheila von
Wiese-Mack turned up dead inside a suitcase, the young couple booked a
room inside a luxury hotel in Chicago using the woman's credit card and
filmed their alcohol-fueled escapades.
The
body of Mrs von Weise-Mack, 62, was discovered Tuesday in the back of a cab
parked outside the high-end St Regis Hotel in the capital of Bali,
Denpasar.
Chicago
Sun-Times reported that on July 23, Sheila von Wise-Mack reported
her credit card was being used without her knowledge at the ritzy Conrad
Hotel on Rush Street.
Responding
officers discovered Ms Mack and Mr Schaefer booked a hotel room with
her mother's credit card and charged $1,000 worth of services.
Room rates start at $295-a-night at the hotel.

The 21-year-old man was arrested on misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. Ms Mack was also taken into custody but released.
Schaefer,
who uses the stage name 'Tommy Exx', has shared videos on his Instagram
account showing snippets from their stay at Conrad Hotel.
In one clip, the 21-year-old is pictured entering the sleek lobby furnished with white armchairs and a contemporary fireplace.
In
another, Ms Mack and several friends are in a hotel room with a bottle of
Jack Daniels. The 19-year-old girl tumbles onto the bed laughing.
Mr Schaefer also had the camera on his phone rolling when police came to arrest him - a video he later titled 'pig stop'.
The
clip is intercut with shots of him looking through a menu, a glass of
white wine of a dining table, and finally him staring from the backseat
of a patrol car.
‘Now I'm
in the back of a police car. Great… f***ing pigs,’ he could be heard
saying off camera while looking through the bars separating him from the
front of the vehicle.
Shortly
before he flew to Bali, Mr Schaefer had told friends in a cryptic
Facebook message that he was going to Indonesia and 'wasn’t sure' when
he was coming back, before planning to go on to China.
also has emerged on Thursday that following Mrs von Weise-Mack's
beating death, the couple tried to access the victim's safety deposit
box,
which was believed to contain valuables, but their efforts failed.
MailOnline
has been told Ms Mack and Mr Schaefer also had sex in their St Regis
Hotel room after alleged killing Ms von Weise-Mack as well as another
hotel police arrested them in.
Chicago lawyer Michael Elkin, who
has been hired by Ms Mack, released a statement Thursday insisting that
his client was innocent.
Elkin dismissed allegations of murder
against her as untrue and said they would be 'disproven as the
investigation continued or at the conclusion of a trial, if formal
charges are indeed filed'.
The attorney also expressed concern Ms Mack had been denied to speak with a legal representative after her arrest.
Witnesses
have told police that Mrs von Weise-Mack, her daughter and Mr Schaefer
had a fight at the reception desk of St Regis Hotel on Monday night
before her body was snuck from the hotel in a silver suitcase smeared
with blood.
Staff have told police the three argued about who should pay the bill when they were due to check-out on Thursday.
Suspect: Heather Mack at the police HQ in Bali. Hotel staff have told
MailOnline how she and her boyfriend were arguing over the bill in the
lobby the night before Sheila von Weise Mack's body was found stuffed in
a suitcase
Uncooperative: Heather has been refusing to talk to police and has been demanding that she has a U.S. lawyer
Confrontation: The teenager and her mother pictured on one of their
many exotic holidays. The night before her death witnesses said she told
her daughter angrily: 'I paid for his (the boyfriend's flight), you pay
the hotel bill'
According
to a staff reconstruction of the argument, Mrs von Weise-Mack, from Chicago, was seen pointing at
Mr Schaefer, who had checked in after the couple earlier in the week,
and telling her daughter: 'I’ve paid for his flight here, so the two of you should pay for the hotel.'
The
three of them left the lobby area after the row but a few hours later,
at 11.26am, Ms Mack and Mr Schaefer arrived in the reception area with a
large suitcase wrapped in a bed sheet, refusing to allow a porter to
take it out to a waiting taxi.
Staff
at the $650-a-night St Regis Hotel told of the strange behaviour of Ms Mack,
who would instantly change from being friendly with them to storming
around the opulent lobby and the pool area in an aggressive manner and
glaring angrily at those who approached her.
Witnesses
reported she and her mother were seen arguing on a number of
occasions at the hotel, causing some staff to be concerned the
couple might even come to blows.
'The
mother had all the appearances of one of our upmarket guests,' said a
staff member, 'But the behaviour she and her daughter showed did not
belong in our hotel. Even so, it’s such a tragic end for that poor
woman.'
After carrying the suitcase containing Mrs von Weise-Mack’s body out to the taxi, Ms
Mack and Mr Schaefer returned to the reception desk and said they
would not be paying the bill - it would be taken care of by Mrs von Weise-Mack
when she checked out later.
But
it is claimed they did ask for a safety deposit box, believed to
contain Mrs von Weise-Mack’s jewellery and their passports, to be opened and its
contents given to them. The staff refused because they said Mrs von Weise-Mack had
left instructions that only she should be allowed to open it.
Ms
Mack and Mr Schaefer said they had more bags to collect but instead
they went out through the back entrance and later ordered another taxi
to take them to the airport.
Held:
Schaefer is escorted by a policeman for questioning in connection with
the murder. He sent a Facebook message some days before his trip hinting
that he may never return from Indonesia
Lovebirds: The couple started dating after the tragic death of Schaefer's girlfriend in a car crash in April
Denpasar police chief Djoko Hariutomo said they approached immigration officials claiming they had lost their passports.
'They
said the needed to get new passports in order to leave the country, but
that was because the passports were locked inside the deposit box at
the hotel,' Mr Djoko said.
After
being told by immigration officials that lost passports had to be
reported to respective embassies, the couple vanished again, this time
taking a taxi to the four-star Risata Bali Resort, a short distance from
the airport.
With
an alert going out to all hotels and taxis, police received a call from
staff at the Risata where, raiding a room at 8.30am on Wednesday,
police found the couple asleep and arrested them.
As
police began the difficult task of trying to question the pair in
detail, fingerprint experts were examining pieces of glass from an
unidentified object that is believed to have been used to bludgeon Mrs
von Weise-Mack in room 616 in the hope of finding clues as to whether it
was Ms
Mack or Mr Schaefer who had last touched the suspected murder weapon.
Heather
has taken on top Chicago defense lawyer Michael Elkin to represent her.
Aldina Kahari, an associate in Elkin's office said when she spoke to
Heather in Indonesia police had refused to leave the room despite her
requests.
'During my brief conversation with Heather, I was made
aware that a police guard was present in the room, even after I
requested that I be able to speak to Heather without anyone being
present,' Kahari said in a statement.
Rages:
At the $650 St Regis hotel staff told of the strange behaviour of
Heather, who would instantly change from being friendly with them to
storming around the opulent lobby and the pool area in an aggressive
manner and glaring angrily at those who approached her
Kahari said Heather had initially been denied access to an attorney which she called 'quite disconcerting'.
Elkin insists that Heather was not involved in her mother's murder. He told CBS Chicago
the allegations 'will be disproven as the investigation continues or at
the conclusion of trial, if formal charges are indeed filed'.
Elkin
said he had met Heather a few times in Chicago and when she realized
she needed an attorney she called him in tears. He said Heather sounded
'numb' when she called his office before her arrest.
'It appeared to me that she was trying to keep it together,' Elkin told a Chicago NBC affiliate. 'She needed assistance in getting to the embassy and how to go about it.'
He
said he had told her to go to the U.S. consulate in Bali but she had
not managed to make it there before her arrest. He also said he had told
her to say nothing to the Indonesian authorities.
Elkin said he is not representing Tommy Scahefer and has asked Indonesian authorities not to tell him anything about his case.
He said Indonesian law allowed a suspect to be held for up to 20 days without charges.
In
a bizarre twist, the couple - who are being interviewed separately - have
told police Mrs Mack had been killed by an armed gang who had then
taken the two of them captive before they were able to escape.
'They
have both told the same story about the armed gang, but clearly this is
something they have concocted before their arrest, as there is
absolutely no evidence from the CCTV cameras to show they were captured
by a gang,' police said.
From
both the US and Indonesia, reports have emerged telling of Mrs von Weise-Mack’s
troubled daughter, who is understood to have been adopted.
An
insight into the family background and Ms Mack’s psychological problems
has come from a writer to the Jakarta Post who said she was the same
age as Heather, having been friends with her for years.
'Heather
has always been a very disturbed girl.
She was extremely spoiled and would often scream and throw things until
she got her way,' the writer said.
'In
2006, Sheila and her husband were vacationing on a cruise ship when
something went wrong and her husband cut his foot due to negligence.
Sheila sued the cruise ship and won a sizable amount of money.
'Heather became even crazier with the newly-inherited millions.'
Horror:
The blood-stained suitcase where the body of Mrs von Wiese-Mack was
found. It was left in a cab when Mack and Schaefer checked out of the
hotel, but they failed to return and the driver went to police
The
former friend added: 'I have absolutely no idea what Tommy saw in
Heather or what would bring him to' - allegedly - 'participate in the
murder'.
'Tommy
recently lost the love of his life. In April, Tommy’s long-time
girlfriend, Rachel Smylie, passed away in a car accident in Cape Town,
South Africa.
'I guess Tommy and Heather started dating after
Rachel’s death and I’m saddened that he got caught up in Heather’s
insanity. Sheila was an incredibly nice, educated woman.

eyes and try to visualise her, an image of Sheila wearing a fur coat
and stiletto heels while shopping at the local Jewel-Osco comes to
mind.'
