We’re just around the corner from the start of the new season for Game of Throneson
HBO, and already the end of the series is being mapped out. While the
show has a lot of leg left, series creators David Benioff and D.B. Wiess
spoke in a promotional piece with Vanity Fair and stated they have an
end game for the hit series.
Per Vanity Fair:
BenioffThis comes almost a year after Frank Doegler stated that the series could possibly last as long as seven seasons, further reiterating the end date for Game of Thrones.
and co-creator D. B. Weiss tell Windolf that the show has a lifespan,
and they would like to wrap it up after seven or eight seasons. “It
doesn’t just keep on going because it can,” Weiss says. “I think the
desire to milk more out of it is what would eventually kill it, if we
gave in to that.”
If this plan is followed as it currently is, that would place the final season of Game of Thrones
as airing in 2018. While the end may have been already mapped out,
there is still plenty left in the tank for the hit HBO series.
