Taylor Swift let fans know she and actor Michael J. Fox had buried the hatchet on Friday (January 18) when the pop star tweeted, “Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good. Thank you for having my back.” What started as a Golden Globes punchline on Sunday night (January 13) from co-host Tina Fey warning newly-single Tay to “stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son!” quickly escalated into a “feud”. The actor appeared to agree with Tina when he told Vulture, “[she] writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career … I wouldn’t even know who she was.” (We can’t figure out which was more of a burn to Taylor: calling her out on her blind item-esque lyrics or claiming not to even know of her existence.)
Thankfully, Swift fans can rest easy this weekend knowing no one is throwing shade on music’s country pop sweetheart. MJF, too, can find some peace of mind knowing Taylor will never (ever, ever) write a song about his son, Sam. But…the Red singer might have just found herself the lyrical inspiration for “Mean (Part 2)”.
