Being Puerto Rican and all, I tend to wait until the last minute to do anything. Case in point: Holiday shopping. If you’re anything like me, you not only haven’t bought any gifts for family or loved ones, you also have no idea what the hell to get them. Well, as managing editor of the TV side of things here on Rickey.org, I thought it might be wise to offer some suggestions for the TV enthusiast in your family. Strangely enough, there aren’t many actual TV show sets on the list, but then, I figure if someone in your family likes a show, you don’t need me to tell you to get it for them, or even to suggest recommending such bad-ass shows like Homeland, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men to others. while I can’t promise that my comprehensively random Holiday Shopping Guide will provide you with any concrete answers on what to get anybody, hopefully the list will get some ideas rolling around in that big, beautiful head of yours.
Game of Thrones bathroom decal
The first three entries in this gift guide are inspired by HBO’s megahit series, so I figured I’d lead-off with this Iron Throne-inspired bathroom decal. Because if you eat a lot of egg yolks and artichokes, then technically, you too can claim to be seated upon the Iron Throne. And all this, without ever having to slay even one nobleman or sleep with a blood relation!

Game of Thrones: Season 1 Collector’s Edition Blu-ray with HBO Select
One of the greatest seasons of fantasy television ever produced gets a deluxe Blu-ray release. Blu-ray special features include the complete five-disc set, a complete interactive compendium of Westeros, an in-feature episode guide, Anatomy of an Episode digest, and Hidden Dragon Eggs that provide never-before-seen content. This is coupled with the already-staggering DVD features, which include an in-depth look at the men of The Wall, and the structure itself, as well as special features about the Dothraki language, creating the show open, and audio commentaries from damn-near everyone involved in the production, from executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, to A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin, and stars Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Mark Addy, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, and Isaac Hempstead Wright.
Bringing the set together is an exclusive Dragon Egg paperweight, a delicately-crafted piece of memorabilia that would look right at home on the desk of any Game of Thrones fan…again, assuming said fan isn’t using the desk to violate the laws of nature with a blood relation. Because what’s good for the Lannisters is good for the gander.

Joffrey Baratheon Target Poster
Need to blow-off steam? Worried that punching a co-worker as a form of therapy will get you in hot water with management? Never fear, for the folks at RedBubble have provided an outlet for your rage: redirecting it at TV’s most-hated villain! Because if anyone has it coming, it’s Joffrey Baratheon. Darts sold separately. But if you can’t afford the darts, just haul off and punch the thing. I feel better just thinking about it.
Purchase for $25: RedBubble.com
Sherlocked Tee Shirt
Another gem, courtesy of the fine folks at RedBubble.com, as this shirt allows fans of BBC’s Sherlock to broadcast that fandom to anyone with two working eyes (and really, just one would do the trick). Because I can think of few better ways to say “The Game Is On” than to get Holmesian about your wardrobe.

Rutherford-Bohr Model Atom Necklace
If you have any Big Bang Theory fans in your family, they might appreciate this Rutherford-Bohr Model Atom Necklace, which allows you to broadcast your nerdery to the world without having to get all Sheldon about it.

Periodic Table Shower Curtain
Another gift for the discerning Big Bang Theory fan. Because, really, why sing in the shower when you could just do science?

Doctor Who Limited Edition Gift Set
BBC America REALLY isn’t playing around with this gift set, which will practically leave the Doctor Who fan in your family needing a quick change of pants. The monstrous set includes the complete seasons 1-6, which covers the tenures of the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors (Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, and Matt Smith), respectively. That’s over 70 hours of content alone right there, to say nothing of the endless hours of bonus features, including 3 new Doctor Specials coming to DVD for the first time ever. The set also comes with a collectible 11th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver, 3 original art cards and the comic book, “Doctor Who at Comic Con.” Even the Cybermen want in on this. And I’m pretty sure they’re not capable of actually enjoying anything.
Purchase for $234: BBC America Shop
Breaking Bad HEISENBERG T-Shirt
It’s so badass I have a hard time actually believing it comes to us from the recesses of Hot Topic, but I figure if we live in an age where Jonah Hill can get nominated for an Academy Award, anything is possible. Celebrate the upcoming final eight episodes of Breaking Bad this summer by decking out in your finest Walter White.
Purchase for $16.40 to $19.60: Hot Topic
Netflix or HuluPlus Gift Subscription
Give the gift of TV that doesn’t suck. In this case, with either Netflix or HuluPlus. Either of these packages saves me the trouble of having to list every single DVD set of every single show you should probably be watching, whether it’s Mad Men, Breaking Bad, or Downton Abbey. That said, if the person is more inclined towards movies, Netflix is likely the better bet, while TV lovers can dig on HuluPlus. Whichever one you choose, it’s kind of hard to go wrong with back catalogs that include the aforementioned Mad Men and Breaking Bad, among other shows and movies both new and old. What’s funny is that both services have pretty much the same pricing structure, with a one-month gift subscription for both services starting at $7.99, while a year goes for $95.88. But there are options for those who want to try the service for more than one month, but for less than a year, with packages for anywhere between two and six months.
True Blood: Limited Edition Cosmetics Collection
If you have a person in your family who’s a fan of True Blood and takes their appearance as seriously as Pam (or Lafayette, for that matter), it might be a good idea to hook’em up with this exclusive kit that includes 17 different eyeshadows, an eyeliner, mascara, cheek stain and lip tint. This is different (and pricier) than famed makeup artist Deborah Lippmann’s official line of True Blood cosmetics, which look like this:
Whichever way you choose to go, I imagine it’ll be difficult to disappoint anyone who’s really, seriously, fanatically dedicated to True Blood. Given that the show is still pulling in the big ratings numbers after five seasons, I’d imagine that’s quite a lot of people, many of them young, and some of them possibly in your family. Though whether or not they’re fangers (or faeries or shifters or southerners or any of a number of increasingly fantastic beings on the show) will be for you to decide.
Purchase limited edition set for $92.00: eCrater

Bow Ties For Gay Marriage
While it might not appear to have much to do with TV on the surface, these bow ties are the product of Modern Family star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who, alongside partner Justin Mikita, are donating 100% of the proceeds of these bowties to TieTheKnot.org, which furthers and supports the cause of marriage equality. They come in a variety of different styles, for a variety of different occasions, so definitely check them out if you know someone who’s looking for the perfect compliment to a business casual ensemble. Because if the Eleventh Doctor has taught us anything, it’s that “bow ties are cool.” And now that they’re for a worthy cause, they’re even cooler.
Purchase for $25.00: The Tie Bar
Zombie Head Cookie Jar
Assuming you have a fan of AMC’s The Walking Dead on your gift list, and assuming that their appetite hasn’t been soured from countless scenes of relentless gore, this snazzy zombie head cookie jar will offer a fitting place to store all non-brain related munchies.

Revenge Infinity Box
For the person in your family who’s on a Revenge quest of their own, and who need a convenient hiding spot for all their sensitive information about the past they’re trying to conceal. Or, you know, you could just put makeup or baseball cards in it. Whatever works.

Dowager Countess Key Chains
An immediate entry in the “Awesome Useless Stuff I Didn’t Know I Needed” come these Downton Abbey-inspired keychains that feature the witticisms of TV’s preeminent snappy old lady. Because if the Dowager Countess has taught us anything, it’s that nothing succeeds like excess.

Rock a Survivor buff from your favorite season for casual Friday at work! And buy your boss a tribal council pen as a strategic move to get him to vote off the other employees, allowing you to get that much closer to the million dollars (in this case, a lucrative promotion). Hey, a savvy player never stops trying to consolidate influence! (However, a savvy player can usually tell the difference between the game and real life…)

Purchase tribal council pen for $19.95: CBS Store
The Aggro Crag
Because at least one person in your family is still secretly twelve. (Take me, for example…)
Purchase for $14.39: My Party Shirt
And that’s the list! I hope you found something unique, and hopefully something new. If nothing else, I hope the list gave you some ideas for what to gift the TV lover in your family. Best of luck in all your last-minute holiday shopping!
