His debut effort spent 76 weeks on the survey and has sold 599,000 copies.
B.o.B, 'Strange Clouds': Track-By-Track Review
The new set includes the Dr. Luke-produced title track featuring Lil Wayne, which reached No. 43 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and "So Good" (No. 92 peak). The songs rose to No. 7 and 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and have sold 1.2 million and 1 million downloads, respectively.
With B.o.B taking the top spot on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Nicki Minaj slides to No. 2 (21,000, down 37%) after "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" spent its first four weeks at No. 1. The "Think Like a Man" soundtrack holds at No. 3 (13,000, down 22%), while Rihanna's "Talk That Talk" is the chart's Greatest Gainer, rising 6-4 (12,000, up 11%) after she performed on "Saturday Night Live" last weekend (May 5).
Drake's "Take Care" rounds out the top five at No. 5 for a second week. The former No. 1 has sold 1.7 million to date.
OH, 'MERCY'!: Kanye West's "Mercy," featuring 2 Chainz and G.O.O.D. Music artists Big Sean, Pusha T, earns Greatest Gainer/Airplay honors on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, shooting up 19-12. Big audience impression gains from WWPR New York (up 1.6 million, according to Nielsen BDS) and KBXX Houston (up 670,000) helped spur the track's overall 43% jump. The song previews West's forthcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation, due on Def Jam. The set will feature tracks from such G.O.O.D. artists as John Legend, Kid Cudi and Mos Def.
At the top of R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Usher's "Climax" holds at No. 1 for a fourth week (32 million, down 5%). Despite the audience erosion, the song holds off Rihanna's "Birthday Cake," featuring Chris Brown, which remains at No. 2 for a fourth frame (30 million, down less than 1%). Can "Cake" dethrone "Climax"? In a possible indicator of future R&B/Hip-Hop Songs fortunes, "Cake" does supplant "Climax" atop the plays-based Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart (viewable to subscribers at billboard.biz/charts).Young Jeezy's "Leave You Alone," featuring Ne-Yo, lifts 4-3 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, while LoveRance's "UP!" moves down (or, "DOWN!") to No. 4 from its No. 3 peak to date.
In its 38th chart week, "Drank in My Cup" rises 7-5 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, giving Kirko Bangz his first sip of the chart's top five. Since the survey adopted Nielsen Music data in 1992, the ascent ties R. Kelly's "Step in the Name of Love" (2003) for the second-longest climb to the top five. Gospel sister duo Mary Mary set the standard for patience when "God in Me," featuring Kierra "KiKi" Sheard, reached the top five in its 43rd week in September 2009.
