Munn stripped down for a PETA ad in LA. 15 Photos »After it was discovered that the woman responsible for flour bombing Kim Kardashian Thursday night has close ties to People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals, Khloe Kardashian has decided to withdraw her support of the organization. On her site today, Kardashian announced that she has “been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time,” but that she’s “also been vocal about anti-bullying.”
Kardashian, who posed nude for a campaign back in 2008, went on to write, “I don’t condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that. I am absolutely disgusted by their behavior. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions — I personally don’t wear fur but that doesn’t mean I am going to force my views on anyone else, ESPECIALLY by violating them.”
“We all need to practice what we preach,” the reality star continued. ”I will still continue to NOT wear fur, but I will no longer support PETA. Bullying and harassment is NEVER a solution, and I won’t be a part of any organization that thinks otherwise.”
In response to the former spokesperson’s withdrawl, PETA president Lisa Lange told Celebuzz,
“We appreciate that Khloe will remain on the animals’ side by not wearing fur—that’s what counts. If one of our volunteers is responsible, it doesn’t alter the fact that no animal deserves to be electrocuted, shot, or poisoned for a bit of fur clothing. Khloe is just defending her sister, and we know she has a good heart, so we wish her well. We just wish she also had more influence on her sister.”
Do you agree with Kardashian’s decision to publicly withdraw her support for PETA?
