Oprah Winfrey’s one-on-one interview with Whitney Houston’s only daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was a ratings bonanza for the chat show queen’s struggling cable network.
Winfrey reeled in big ratings Sunday night with her 90-minute interview special, which also featured Houston’s brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Patricia Houston.
The episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter scored the Oprah Winfrey Network’s (OWN) highest ratings ever, with 3.5 million viewers tuning in. The chat unseated OWN’s previous network high of 1.6 million viewers — set by Oprah’s interview with Pastor Joel Osteen, on Jan. 8.
Houston was found dead in her Beverly Hills hotel room on Feb. 11. But Bobbi Kris told Oprah that she can still feel her mother’s spirit.
“I can still sit there and I can still laugh with her, I can still sit there and I can still talk to her. I can hear her voice in spirit talking to me, telling me, ‘Keep moving baby, I’m right here. I got you.’ She’s always with me, I can always feel her, I can always feel her with me.”
Bobbi Kristina also revealed that lights flicker on and off in the Atlanta home where she and Whitney lived before her death.
