A taxi was hit by a train in a pre-dawn accident in Manila on Tuesday, injuring two persons, police said.
Police Officer 1 Mario Lising, an investigator from the Manila Traffic said that the cab was rammed by a Philippine National Railways (PNR) train near Espana Boulevard in Sampaloc, Manila at around 5:15 a.m.
The PNR train, with body number 101DMR05, was headed southbound while the taxi (TXY921), driven by one Rodrigo Tabor Jr., was going east when the accident occurred.
The taxi’s two passengers, identified as Lambert Bulatao, 54, and Lawrence Bulayungan, 49, were rushed to the United Doctors Medical Center to be treated for injuries.
Lising said that an investigation on the accident was underway.
