SIR Paul McCartney leads an invasion of classic rockers planning to visit this summer.Former Beatle McCartney, 68, has been in talks with two Australian promoters.
One pitched a national run in November.
The other proposed a New Year's Eve show in Sydney, followed by a tour of the major centres.
But McCartney cooled on the tour plan because he wants to spend the holiday season with his new love, Nancy Shevell, and family.
''We couldn't get him motivated to tour in that period,''one promoter said. ''He doesn't want to work then even though the offer was amazing.''
Promoters say talks are ongoing.
''It's a 50-50 chance,'' a promoter said. ''Paul McCartney tours happen at the last minute. This will be no different.
