"I think Mariah will have a role on the live shows," Cowell told Spokane's 92.9 FM DJ Jackie Brown Friday. "I met her recently and she was on great form."
"Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which of course only Mariah could come up with," he continued. "She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."
So why not just make her a judge, then? "She's pregnant," he explained. "I would literally have to have the auditions in a maternity unit or something. Although now I mention it, it's not a bad idea."
So far—and completely unsurprisingly—Fox isn't commenting on Cowell's comments or what possible role Carey, who is indeed expecting twins this spring, may take on during the show. As for who might be named judges, while rumors abound—particularly about Cowell's former "X Factor" U.K. judge and pop star Cheryl Cole—he's not giving away any clues, save for the fact that the announcement will be made soon.
"We're getting down to the wire, I think."

But enough about the judges, what about the contestants? Simon let loose some words of auditioning wisdom for them as well. Namely, what not to sing.
"Nothing by Jason Mraz and probably Alicia Keys, because I've heard it a million times," he said. "You're gonna get a lot of Adele and I have a feeling we're going to hear a little Rebecca Black this year as well."
Here's hoping it's very little.
