If everything goes as projected, Miley Cyrus will notch her first #1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 with her new song, “Wrecking Ball,” when the charts refresh next week.
Cyrus is set to knock Katy Perry’ “Roar” off the perch, selling more than 400,000 downloads. Fortunately for Miley, streaming now counts in the Hot 100 and her music video for the song just set record – reaching 15.5 million U.S. YouTube views over its first two days.
Miley has never reached the top spot on the Hot 100, coming close at #2 with 2009′s “Party in the U.S.A,” and her single “We Can’t Stop,” which was released earlier this year.
