It looks like someone won’t be returning home to “Open Arms.” White House party crasher Tareq Salahi has filed for divorce from his adulterous wife, Michaele, after the former Real Housewife humiliated him and ran off with Journey lead guitarist Neal Schon.
Where are those Bravo cameras when you need them?!
Earlier this week, Salahi contacted authorities in Virginia saying he believed his wife of eight years had been abducted. Michaele left the Front Royal home the now-exes shared on Monday afternoon and never returned. But when cops reached out to the Runaway Bride, she was in Memphis with Schon and stated that she did not want to return to Tareq.
“Mrs. Salahi advised that she did not want Mr. Salahi to know where she was. Mrs. Salahi advised Deputy Glavis that she was very sorry that the Sheriff’s Office had to be involved, but she did not want to be home right now,” officials in Warren County said Thursday.
A publicist for the rock band later confirmed that Michaele and Schon are involved.
“Scoop Marketing can confirm that nobody kidnapped her and that she and Neal are together, in Memphis, for Journey’s concert tonight at the Bridgestone Arena.”
In legal documents filed in Warren County, Virginia on Friday, Salahi cites citing adultery and abandonment as the reasons for his separation from Michaele. He alleges that Neal and Michaele — who met in the late ’90s — have been secretly sleeping together “for a period of months” and that Journey affiliates have been paying for her travel and other expenses to cover up the affair. Tareq also claims Schon taunted him about the relationship by sending him an e-mail with a picture of his penis attached. The jilted hubby — who only a few days ago tearfully called his wife a “very beautiful, loving person” during an interview with a Washington-area NBC affiliate — rips into Michaele in the divorce filing.
“She continually exposes our friends and acquaintances to her adulterous relationship and has flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused me to suffer great harm, humiliation and embarrassment…” the Plaintiff wrote.
The couple, who married in Nov. 2003 and have no children, reportedly have a prenuptial agreement.
The Salahis became overnight celebrities — and later Bravo reality stars — after they showed up uninvited to The Obamas first State Dinner at the White House in Nov. 2009. They’ve been keeping a low-profile ever since their brief tenure on Bravo’s Real Housewives of DC ended earlier this year and Tareq’s Virginia winery went bankrupt. Michaele, who claims to be suffering from multiple sclerosis, was among the stars cast for the fifth season of Celebrity Rehab in March, but she was kicked off the VH1 reality show after it was revealed that she did not have an addiction. (Is famewhoring a form of addictive behavior?) Over the summer, she tried her hand at music with the debut of the disastrous dance dud “Bump It.”
