Just like that … no big announcement, no hoopla for media attention, no magazine coverstory. Just in passing, while talking about his work, Quinto casually refers to himself as a “gay man”. Zachary Quinto’s eight-month run in the recent New York stage revival of Angels in America was an eye-opening experience for him. Love this. For years, Zachary has played gay roles but he has never publicly discussed his sexuality … not that he ever needed to. I’ve met the man a few times and he is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I am so impressed with the nonchalant way he went about coming out in the press. Zachary Quinto may have played an evil villain on his hit show Heroes but by coming out in this way, he is surely to be seen as a hero to many people out there who might be inspired by his honesty.
