Now that Jonathan Groff is on Looking, it’s hard to remember just a few short years ago he played a heterosexual love interest for Rachel Berry on Glee. But now sources are confirming Jesse St. James is returning to the show.

“A very special day at #Glee today!,” Michele Instagrammed, along with the above photo. “Only 3 more days left! And look who stopped by! #JGroff #JesseStJames.”

E! News
confirms Groff wasn’t just visiting his BFF on set, and that the Vocal
Adrenaline member-turned-coach will appear in the last episode.

Groff, who was last seen in season three as the coach who led rival
glee club Vocal Adrenaline to a second place Nationals win, will return
for the finale.

Details are being kept under wraps, however, as to how he’ll return
to Rachel’s life, but it might have something to do with his old job
recently being vacated by Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison). Could Jesse
be taking over Vocal Adrenaline again?

Back in Season 2, Rachel chose Finn over Jesse, but now that she’s
with Sam (Chord Overstreet) will she be able to resist this dark horse
again?
