Alright, so maybe a new Fantastic Four movie wasn’t exactly what the world was demanding, considering how badly the last two turned out. But I’m still stoked to see Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Michael B. Jordan bring to their roles as one of the most famous superhero teams in all of comic books. And now, the trailer for the Fantastic Four reboot is here, offering us our first glimpse at what this possible new franchise could deliver.
The trailer is a bit on the vague side, opting out of showing the heroes in their transformed states, save for a brief shot at the end. But the clip still implies a more serious-minded movie than either of the two that preceded it. This reboot is directed by Chronicle helmer Josh Trank, so I’d expect a more serious look into the nature of what it means to have super powers. If nothing else, Trank’s involvement suggests a more down-to-Earth look at the consequences of being extraordinary (or, pardon the pun, “fantastic”).
