You know… it can be really hard being a celebrity. There’s paparazzo. Bloggers. And $250,000 manicures that you don’t actually have to pay for. Lol. Okay. Celebrity’s a trade-off, and Kelly Osbourne recently got a free manicure of epic proportions, but she still had to pay for it. Fans and Twitter followers were outraged when Kelly tweeted about her Emmy Awards manicure. Click inside to find out what a $250K manicure looks like. Hint: it looks a lot like a $30 manicure, but that’s not the point!
The culprit AKA $250,000 worth of nail polish:

The HuffPost has the story:
When Kelly Osbourne decided to get a $250,000 black diamond manicure for the2012 Emmys, she was probably more nervous about carrying so much cash on her nails than about the reaction she’d receive. But turns out fans weren’t so keen on her extravagant nail varnish — now she’s backtracked and has apologized for the seemingly misguided beauty treatment.
The co-host of E!’s “Fashion Police” announced her pricey beauty treatment before the Emmys on Sunday, posting an Instagram photo with the caption, “About to get a $250k manicure w nail polish made w blk diamonds made by @azature so excited & honored but absolutely shitting myself to have that much money on my nails!”
As it turned out, nails were one of the biggest fashion stories of the evening: E! had a special “Mani Cam” on the red carpet for celebs to show off their nail art and stars like Zooey Deschanel sported some intricate designs on their fingertips.
But no one had nails more impressive — or controversial — as Kelly’s. After several days of backlash, including tweets accusing Osbourne of frivolity and calling her “ridiculous,” she posted a series of tweets on Wednesday evening…
And then she tweeted a pic of the ‘infamous Black Diamond nails’:

Sooooo, there’s that. Honestly? This is totally rant-worthy news, but it’s Friday and Scandal premiered last night and I am not about to let anyone ruin my high! However, I’d loooove to hear what you guys think about this. Granted, Kelly did not actually shell out the money for this, but there is something seriously well… douchetastic about casually mentioning to the world that you’re totally about to get a $250,000 manicure. Like, I cannot even fathom that number in conjunction with that experience. I just can’t. But apparently, some people can.
Ultimately, I think Kelly should have just gotten the manicure, maybe mentioned the black diamonds, but not the price. I know these celebs gotta tweet about everything, but damn! She coulda left the price tag out of it. That’s just, like, common tact. At least that’s how my momma raised me, lol. But at least she gave an honest apology, and admitted that she felt kind of awesome getting the manicure, but perhaps shouldn’t have said so much.
What do y’all think? Did Kelly owe everyone an apology? Or do people need to chill out? After all, it’s only a $250,000 manicure… ;)
