Last week Beyoncé graced us with a music video for her song Love On Top. In that clip, she performs the song with a group of male back-up singers in the spirit of acts like the Jackson 5. Today, she graces us again with another music video … this time for her song Party. This new clip was directed by Bey herself (with a little help from Alan Ferguson) and features guest appearances by her younger sister Solange and former Destiny’s Child member & BFF Kelly Rowland. As you can see below, Beyoncé‘s Party takes place in an uberfabulous trailer park … cuz, apparently, that’s how Beyoncé rolls. Check it out.
I am really impressed by how Bey is able to breathe new life into her songs with each music video. As I’ve said many times before, I am less than impressed with her album 4 but I tend to enjoy the songs more when presented in music video form. I’m really digging the fabulousness of this vid. I mean, IF Beyoncé were ever to really live in a trailer park, I suspect this is how her life would be. For some reason, Andre 3000 was unavailable to appear in this video (despite the fact that he appears on the album track) but J. Cole fills in nicely, I think. It’s a fun video … nothing too serious. Now … all we have to do is wait for the inevitable proof that this video was “heavily inspired” by some other artist and we can call it a day.
