Jenna Dewan-Tatum: 'I went to many strip clubs with Janet Jackson'

Jenna Dewan-Tatum has revealed that she went with Janet Jackson to strip clubs "all over the world".

Dewan-Tatum started her career as a background dancer for Jackson and other high-profile artists, and has revealed that the 'Rhythm Nation' singer lived a wild life while on the road

"I used to dance with Janet Jackson. I don't know what it is, but her whole thing after the show is, 'Let's go to a strip club!' Everyone wants to go to strip clubs all over the world," the actress told Chelsea Lately.

She added: "The thing is, I was 19 and I was on tour and I was completely naïve, hadn't seen the world… We went to gay strip clubs. It was kind of crazy."

Dewan-Tatum transitioned from dancing into acting with early roles in Step Up and The Grudge 2.

Airlines of the Year: Emirates

You must be living under a rock if you haven’t heard of this conglomerate with its spectacular rise in popularity over the past ten years. The hub of Dubai is often quoted as being the perfect location for travellers requiring a transit point, with the majority of travellers being able to get to their destination with just one stop. First and business class travellers receive complimentary hotel accommodation in Dubai during their transit if they choose (and who wouldn’t want to… Dubai is a fantastic destination!). The carrier has the largest fleet of A380′s with 21 currently in service with a massive 69 on order. The remainder of the fleet comprises various 777, A340 and A330 wide-body aircraft.

On the ground 

Before a flight, first and business travellers are treated to complimentary chauffeur transfers from their home to the airport and on arrival at their destination. Lush airport lounges indulge first class, business class and high status passengers with a wide choice of Arabic & Western food and and a range of beverages such as Veuve Clicquott. Priority check-in and boarding is executed well with the carrier.

First 

Those with money to blow will be hard pressed to find a more refined first class offering in the skies. The A380 and some other of it’s newer aircraft are fitted with the suite product in a 1-2-1 layout. Those travelling on the A380 can also treat themselves to an onboard shower, which was a first in air travel.Unfortunately older aircraft in the Emirates fleet are fitted with an older (and less spectacular) seating product in a 2-2-2 layout. The Emirates website has a great tool to tell you what aircraft is scheduled for your flight and this is recommended for travellers to ensure they aren’t disappointed.

The food and beverage offering is as extensive as you would think. Delicious champagne, fine wines and cocktails are available whenever you want to wet the lips. The seven-course degustation will keep passengers from being hungry also.

Emirates First Class Suite

Business 

Emirates followed Virgin Atlantic’s lead by installing a bar on it’s A380 aircraft for it’s first and business class travellers. The area at the rear of the upper deck can comfortably fit up to a dozen or so passengers so it’s quite roomy and a good place to stretch your legs (or – to get a martini).

Like first class, there are different variants of business class seating depending on the aircraft. The A380 has flatbeds and each seat has direct aisle access. The older aircraft have shell seats, which although fine for shorter trips don’t lie completely flat.

Some passengers have commented that the overall business class offering has been in decline and the large size of the business cabin on the A380 makes the experience impersonal. Catering quality appears to be in decline also according to reports.

Economy 

Economy will always be economy and as such there isn’t a huge amount to rave on about here. The standard baggage allowance is 23 kgs and those passengers with status can use the lounges at the airport – those without status must loiter in the terminal with the masses. The Emirates bean counters were increasingly tight with their inclusion of a 10 abreast seating layout on it’s 777 aircraft with a 3-4-3 configuration. Other airlines have opted for a 3-3-3 layout which provides more seat width for travellers. Those flying on the A380 are also subject to the 10 abreast layout however the size of the aircraft means the cabin feels more spaciousness than that of the 777.

The seat pitch (distance between a specific point on the seat in front to the same point on the seat behind it) is an acceptable 32” – not market leading, but better than other carriers.

In-flight Entertainment 

This is where Emirates excels as it’s ICE entertainment system is renowned for it’s extensive selection of entertainment options. In fact, this writer would hazard a guess that the Emirates system has the most content of any carrier. Up to 1000 channels of entertainment including movies, television, games and audio will keep you occupied during your journey.

The Verdict 

Emirates pays most of its attention to passengers in the premium cabins whilst those in languishing in economy receive little (this is stated in a number of online reviews from economy passengers). Travelling in first class is an amazing experience however and travellers not wanting to part with so much cash can opt for business class, though the business service may not be as refined as on other carriers. Some say that Emirates is becoming a victim of its own success by becoming impersonal with slipping standards of quality.

2013 World Airline Award Winners Announced

It’s that time of year again when the world waits breathlessly to find out what airline scoops the top gong in the Skytrax World Airline Awards .

The infamous airline awards includes feedback from up to 18 million flyers in over 160 countries, with this years awards being held at the Paris Airshow. The Skytrax awards are seen as the worlds most noticed awards given its longevity and scope, though its method for selecting winners remains a bit of a grey area.

So who came up trumps this year? Emirates improved upon its eighth spot in 2012 by becoming the worlds best airline in 2013, booting out Qatar which was relegated to second position after two years in the top spot. Check out the rest of the winners below.

Winner: Emirates 

Every man and his dog have heard of this behemoth carrier with its rise to fame taking the world by storm. But it’s not by accident – Emirates excels in its premium cabins with first class guests treated to luxuries such as onboard showers on its A380 aircraft. The A380 also sports a bar for its premium cabin guests. Emirates improves on its 8th position in last years awards, which is a stellar improvement by anyones measure.

No surprises with this one as Singapore Airlines retains third position on the leader board. Singapore Airlines has been airline royalty for like… ever… and you’d have to be be living under a rock to not know who these guys are and that they are the airline of choice. The first class ‘suite’ product on its A380 is the most amazing product in the skies and its long-haul business class offers one of the largest flatbeds around.

ANA has continued its rise into the top 10 this year after coming in fifth last year, and 11th spot in 2011. The airline was the launch carrier for the Boeing 787 which have just recently come back into service. To check out the inside of ANA’s new bird, check out this article over at our friends at AusBT .

Asiana has dropped back in its ranking, from second spot last year (and third the year previously) but the airline has done well considering it is still a bit of a left wing airline for many. While the hard product looks a bit dated and dull, Asiana really performs in the customer service aspect which sets the carrier apart from the pack. Customers however have complained about the inconsistency in its onboard product, so perhaps this is why it has dropped in this years awards.

Cathay Pacific dropped from fourth position last year to sixth this year. The airline is another quality staple from the pool of Asia’s finest carriers and it has been a hallmark of quality for years. The airline is thankfully correcting its awful economy ‘sliding seats’ and migrating away from the coffin herringbone configuration in its business class – it’s good to know the airline is listening to its customers.

Etihad is no stranger to a high position in the airline awards – its product is superb, especially in its premium cabins. The first class product offered on Etihad won last years best first class award – its business class cabins offers flat-beds and a ‘dine anytime’ service for passengers.

Garuda has been a fairytale story – its rise in the Skytrax awards has been swift, with its eight spot coming as no surprise to industry watchers. With a strong leadership team at the helm, the airline has transformed itself into the world class airline it is today. Unfortunately it has a checkered safety record with some passengers refusing to fly on the airline (we’re sure these feelings will change with time as the airline proves its commitment to safety). Garuda will join global airline alliance Skyteam in 2014.

Turkish has dropped from seventh position last year to ninth this year. The airline offers a great product and easy connections with partner airlines due to its membership in Star Alliance. Turkish is known for its killer food and beverage offering in its business class.

Phew… that was a close one Qantas. Coming in tenth this year, the airline improves on its poor standing of 15th spot in last years awards. The airline has recently set-up shop with this years winner Emirates, and all connections from Australia to Europe now fly through Dubai. Qantas has a unique first class offering and a robust business class product, which you can read about in Fabian Brimfield’s awesome business class review found here . Its first class lounge in Sydney is also a sight to behold .

144-Year Building: 3D Animation Completes Famous Basilica

Started in 1882, the Sagrada Família basilica is one of the most famous buildings in the world, despite still remaining unfinished … at least for now.This amazing one-minute animation shows the final steps toward its near-future completion, officially slated for 2026.

Designed by Antoni Gaudí and set in Barcelona, the structure has been in the works for generations, a process continued long after the death of its architect nearly 100 years ago. The animation itself features real aerial helicopter footage enhanced with dynamic digital modelling.

The plan, in fact, is to celebrate its completion on that one-century anniversary of 1926. The project is scheduled to be finished under its new chief architect Jordi Faulí who is following in the plans and footsteps of Gaudí in finalizing this Gothic-inspired masterpiece.

Chris Brown is feuding with Perez Hilton

I never thought I’d see the day where Chris Brown would end up feuding with someone and I’d actually have trouble picking sides, and yet … here we are.Apparently, Chris is feuding on Twitter with Perez Hilton — and to a lesser extent, Wendy Williams —  after Perez tweeted this before going on Wendy’s daytime talk show:

Justin Timberlake’s ‘The 20/20 Experience — 2 Of 2′ Will Debut At No. 1

Justin Timberlake will score his second No. 1 record this year with The 20/20 Experience — 2 of 2. Billboard predicts that, at around 350,000 copies sold, 2 of 2should knock Drake‘s Nothing Was the Same from the Billboard 200′s top spot, meaning that Lorde‘s Pure Heroine will debut at No. 3.

Is Timberlake’s sales victory a “TKO,” then? Not quite. At 968,000 copies sold,his first 20/20 Experience still holds the record for this year’s largest sales week and is the biggest-selling album of 2013. That’s right — with 2 of 2, Timberlake was tasked to beat his own sales records .

Plus, after his first 20/20 Experience arrived to critical acclaim, the soulful but sprawling 2 of 2 had debuted to mixed reviews . Some outlets, like USA Today, praised its ambition. Others, like our Idolator review , concluded that 20/20 is “the first real blemish on JT’s catalog,” given how the pop star’s reunion withTimbaland amounted to music that felt redundant.

Miss World 2013 Pageant

Miss Philippines Megan Young is officially on top of the world! After a pageant that featured contestants from 127 countries, Megan was named the winner and crowned Miss World 2013.

“I promise to be the best Miss World ever,” Megan said after winning Miss World 2013, a pageant that has been put on for 63 years. Megan was clearly emotional after the big announcement, covering her mouth with her hands and smiling uncontrollably.

Though she’s Miss Philippines, Megan was actually born in America — Alexandria, Virginia to be exact — where she lived until the age of 10, according to New York Daily News. She has appeared on Filipino television shows and has even been a TV host, but pageants are her true calling, and on Sept. 28 she reached the apex of her dream!

Miss France Marine Lorphelin took second place, while Miss Ghana Carranzar Naa OkaileyShooter took third.

Miss World 2013 Protests

2013′s Miss World pageant was not without drama by any means though. The pageant, which was set to be held in the predominantly Muslim city Jakarta, faced mass protests from the Islamic Defenders Front, who believed the pageant went against Muslim teachings and let participants show too much skin.

Even with organizers vowing to cut bikinis out of the swimsuit portion of the competition, opposition in Jakarta continued to grow. So just three weeks before the event’s final, the Indonesian government moved Miss World from Jakarta to the Hindu-dominated island of Bali.

That turned out to be a perfect solution, as Miss World 2013 went off without a hitch, and Megan received her tiara and sash without being overshadowed by any negativity.
