Amedy Coulibaly, the man believed to be the gunman who killed four hostages at a Paris kosher supermarket on Friday, was also wanted for fatally shooting a policewoman the day before. Now a prosecutor says Coulibaly is also connected to the shooting of a jogger in a Paris suburb on Wednesday, the same day Coulibaly's alleged associates killed 12 people in the attack on the Charlie Hebdo satirical newspaper.
The prosecutor said ballistics tests on shell cases from the shooting Wednesday in the suburb, Fontenay aux Roses, linked them to the automatic weapon used at the grocery two days later, according to The Associated Press.
The jogger was seriously wounded, the prosecutor said. The shooting had not been widely reported previously. There have also been other reports this week of various crimes in Paris that turned out to be unrelated to the shooting sprees by Coulibaly and his apparent accomplices, brothers Said and Chérif Kouachi.
Coulibaly was killed Friday when police stormed the kosher market, just moments after the Kouachis were killed after another hostage standoff near Paris.
A total of 17 victims were killed in the three days of attacks this week — 12 at theCharlie Hebdo office, four at the market and the police officer allegedly shot by Coulibaly.
